So apparently the Mac version of Dragon Age: Origins got released today. Also, includes Shale and the blood dragon armor FOR FREE!
It's only available through download though, which is odd. I might pick this up through Direct2Drive.
Anyone else waiting to pick this up for their Mac? Or did you get your PC version already?

Dude really!?!?! Uuuuugh now I think I might actually buy it...I decided not to get the PC one... I hope there was a demo I can get...
" lolmac "Hey now, don't bring that crap up in this thread. I'm on a mac right now, using bootcamp to run windows and play some PC games.

I can't seem to find it though...just a lot of news results that it exists. Maybe I'll check tomorrow, I'm new to the world of downloadable games and don't know when's a common time for them to actually drop

Mwer...temptation...argh...I'm considering...I'll think it over, convince myself not to and then buy it anyways. Sounds good.

Christmas gift for myself?
" I got the blood dragon armor and shale dlc when I bought it from steam on the pc. "Ok. Then I guess it will be exactly like that then...
I just remember thinking that you had to pre-order it or something to get it for the console version.
Quick port! Nice.
Let the rest of us know how it runs. I'd love to play this on my MBP while I commute to work on the train.

PC version through XP/Bootcamp > Shoddy port, most likely. (Plus the fact that people who use Steam are sexy.)
" @Romination said:another Christmas gift for myself? ;) I want to pick this up but I think it is going to have to wait a bit... at least until i pay off the things I already bought that I don't have money for... damn you Amazon Deal Days!!! Damn you I say! :)" Mwer...temptation...argh...I'm considering...I'll think it over, convince myself not to and then buy it anyways. Sounds good. "Yeah I'll probably do that too. I got it today for mac on my mid 2009 minimum specs 13" mbp. It runs okay. i have to run it on all the lowest settings and even then it can lag when zoomed in or during cutscenes. I've found it works best when in the overhead view(and looks best since I can't see how bad the textures/models/etc look on my comp). Overall a good port. I've played about 4 hours

So it includes the same DLC that was given for free in other versions? I am not surprised. I'm actually more surprised that there's an honest to god game that isn't a Diner Dash clone actually coming out on the Mac platform. :P" So apparently the Mac version of Dragon Age: Origins got released today. these system requirements include almost all current macbook models. That being said, you're right
just played some more and it should be noted that with weather effects(outside the tower of ishal) the game is near unplayable on a 13". In simple environments without effects the game works fine, and luckily the use of pause makes the slower parts not too bad
" Mac OS X 10.6.2 Leopard or higherWell, my Mac would run this, but I don't really if it is worth the effort. The game doesn't really appeal a whole lot. I think I might consider a cheap retail copy for the 360 later. I would likely play 10 minutes and then want to play Civilisation IV again (I really only like RTS on the PC/Mac). Still, it is good to see developers porting to the Mac, there should be more of it. I assume the problem with the Macbook (which I have) is the lack of a dedicated graphics card (what would I know, I am not a tech head).Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 2 GB RAM ATI X1600 or NVIDIA 7300 or greater At least 17 GB of hard drive space for installation This game will not run on PowerPC (G3/G4/G5)-based Mac systems, or Intel GMA class of video cards. these system requirements include almost all current macbook models. That being said, you're right"
