Overview
Dragon Attack is a single-screen shoot-'em-up released initially in 1983 for the Sord M5, and was developed by Takara and published by Sord. It resembles Centipede in many ways, as the player is expected to shoot long "creatures", which can be severed from the rest of its body by shooting its different sections, and destroying the head is worth more points. However, there are multiple dragons in Dragon Attack on one screen, as opposed to one centipede, and they fire downward at the player. The player is also given a shield system which works like Space Invaders instead something akin to the "mushroom field" of Centipede.
Takara collaborated with HAL Laboratory to port the game to the MSX the following year. A later re-release of this version was published by Toshiba.
