Sony 06. At least neither of the other two said the words "Giant Enemy Crab" in front of their investors.

Overall press conference would have to be Sony 2006 but for most embarrassing moment I would say the Wii Music demo. I felt so bad for Miyamoto...

Five hundred and ninety nine US dollars.
    Ridge Racer! RIIIIIIIIIDGE RACER!!
    So.....here's this giant enemy crab.
    Real time weapon change.
Attack its weak point for massive damage.
Oh sure, that Killzone 2 trailer was totally actual gameplay.

Sony '06 is the stuff of legend.

You know those moments where you feel as if you've taken the role of the other and it causes you to feel anxiety and sorrow because of the other persons awkward position? That's nintendo 08

Microsoft's Kinect unveiling was pretty bad, but only because it didn't appeal to most of the people watching.  In fairness, the tech was still pretty impressive and they did start off by showing things like Reach, so it wasn't a complete disaster..  Just boring.

Sony in '06 and Nintendo's '08 on the other hand, were almost completely unwatchable and devoid of anything even remotely redeeming or interesting.  Nintendo mange to just win this one though..  only time I've ever stopped watching a conference was when they started showing Wii Music.  Absolutely awful.

You know, say what you want about Sony 06, but goddamnit if last years Konami press conference wasn't just like the worst thing ever.

@billnyethesciencepie: Wow, I hadn't seen the Konami one before.  I think that guy literally died on the stage.
Did they really think that Nintey-Nine Nights 2 was a big deal?  Or even something people were remotely interested in?

You're all forgetting Nintendo 2003. When all they had to announce was that they didn't like how the gamecube was viewed as a casual system and that the gba-gamecube connector cable was all they had. Also technical issues aplenty.

Not a console, but the Ubisoft conference in '09 was pretty fucking specialist.

Nintendo '08. When Kaz goes up on stage and makes a fool of himself, I don't really care too much. He isn't really someone I admire. But when Nintendo gets Miyamoto to go onstage and make a fool of himself after an all around abyssmal show beforehand, then I start to have problems. It's the same way that Lady Gaga having a facebook game doesn't surprise me (it still bothers me, but I'm not surprised). Kurt Kobain being put in GH5 singing No Doubt songs, on the other hand, really does bother me. They took one of the most beloved and instantly recognizable names in the industry and put him onstage pretending to poorly play music.

It was also the first year that I realized I could watch the actual conferences live instead of reading about it later, and the excitement that I had going into it was a complete letdown.

I voted for Microsoft '10 because of how ridiculously staged it all was. I mean normally they make it seem less staged even though it is staged but Microsoft '10 was terrible at doing that. Just remember the Video Kinect demo:
