A few days ago, user Droop created a thread asking who the userbase would like to see on Giant Bomb's E3 Bombcasts. You spoke up. Secretly, I was listening. I also had Excel open.

    This only leads to problems.

I went through the thread, tallying up all the names I could recognize, ignoring some abstract or unclear votes in the process. When I was done, I had a pretty clear picture of who the community wanted to hear from at E3.

It's extremely unlikely that this will factor into who Giant Bomb actually invites in any way or form, nor do I expect it to have any influence. The point is to show off which industry folk you, as the community, would like to hear from the most next week. It's who you love...in a mostly platonic manner.

    Enough rambling. Here's the breakdown.

    The Top Requests

    1. Justin McElroy

Justin's tale of a misguided and spoiler-heavy pitch for a Sherlock Holmes game was perhaps the funniest part of last year's E3 Bombcasts. Combined with his role on My Brother My Brother and Me, a podcast that rivals the Bombcast in comedic quality, it's clear his humor resonates in the hearts and minds of the Giant Bomb community.

Also, if you haven't heard MBMBaM before, go check it out. F'serious, it's a great podcast.

    2 (Tie). Adam Sessler

Numerous users have clamored for Adam to ditch X-Play and G4 and run straight into the loving arms of Giant Bomb, but his recent interest in E3 Mysteries makes him an irresistible choice.

I also saw him really drunk at PAX Prime 2011, but that's not important.

    2 (Tie). John Vignocchi

    No, you twat, it's Jose!
    No, you twat, it's Jose!

Johnny V's star appears to be falling a little bit, but the userbase still loves him! Johnny's antics, most especially with Adam Boyes, have been regularly enjoyed by the staff and users alike. He's good at making a fool of himself and burning down tuxedo factories nationwide.

    4. Brad Muir

Brad Muir's such a nice guy, and is one of the cool dudes at Double Fine responsible for Trenched and Iron Brigade, and everyone loves him and nobody hates him fine whatever let's move on

    5. David Jaffe

Opinions. David Jaffe has them. It also didn't hurt that he followed a somewhat polarizing pair of guests last year in e and Stepto, but users love his willingness to knock the PR bullshit aside and get straight to the point.

    6. Rich Gallup

He used to work for Curt Schilling. Now Rich Gallup needs work. Most of us would love it if he decided to work at Giant Bomb.

Just admit it, we want Button Mashing back. It'll never happen.

    7. Paul Barnett

    <>

OK, fine, he's also pretty cool, it's not just that silly thing.
OK, fine, he's also pretty cool, it's not just that silly thing.

    8 (Tie). Geoff Keighley

Geoff Keighley runs a tight, high-quality ship at GameTrailers and on Spike. It'd be rather interesting to see him speak a little less professionally on a Bombcast.

    8 (Tie). Leigh Alexander

Some people just want to watch the world burn.

    Tied for Tenth

Johnny V cohort Adam Boyes, Jeff Green (Dad I'm gay), financial analyst extraordinaire Michael Pachter, horse stabber Peter Molyneux, and Tim Freaking Schafer round out a lengthier top ten with a handful of requests each.

    Lesser Loved Lads

All of the following people received a few requests, but either the community in large isn't quite as interested in them, has forgotten about them, or just doesn't think they'll actually show up for a Bombcast.

    Sorry Singletons

Because I feel like it, here's a sampling of a few of the people or things that only received one request. I'm sure we just forgot about them, because on its own, this would be a pretty awesome line-up. Sorry about that.

Apart from the usual dudes (Johhny, Adam, Barnett, Muir, Rich) I also wouldn't mind seeing some new faces.

But, oh, I really want to see Rich in there. Jeff, Ryan, Alex, Brad and Rich all in the same room/podcast? That's as OG as it gets.

How did no one bring up the man, the myth, the legend J Allard? And for the record, I loved hearing from e and Stepto last year, and would love to hear from the new free agent Stepto. Loved when he said at the PAX East Harmonix panel "so Kinect Star Wars - that game really sucks!"

@mfpantst: I'm not opposed to seeing a little world burning, but I don't want to have my eardrums split and I'd like to be able to hear what the other talented guests have to say.

That was a great moment, and it's kind of a relief compared to the usual having to dance around negative points that was rather familiar from his Major Nelson days. I agree in that I'd love to hear more from Stepto now that he doesn't have to be quite as cautious.

Disclaimer: I'm the person who requested e and Stepto in the thread I tallied, since I enjoyed the heck out of their time on the Bombcast last year.

Because I'm a freak, I just re-listened to that podcast over the past few days. That entire week's E3 casts were kind of my true introduction to the site. Listening to truly passionate, interesting, intelligent people talk about the industry is like nirvana. And I'm glad I missed the thread that spawned this, because I would have voted for my old favorites, and I think part of what's exciting about the GB E3 experience is discovering new industry figures I want to hear more from or see their next project.
