3D hair physics was first demonstrated at the 1996 Tokyo Game Show, when spectators were, for the first time, astounded by the realistic hair movement in Virtua Fighter 3 for Sega's new Model 3 arcade system. Since then, hair physics has been featured in most 3D fighting games and subsequently many other 3D video games in general.
