Congrats to @hach for taking this year's Nintendo banner! In 2nd place was bitbat's GameBoy cartridge animation. And, tied for 3rd were godmil's tumbleweed and lukedoc321's puppet animation.

The Official E3 2016 Nintendo Treehouse Live Discussion

It's officially E3 time, duders! If you haven't experienced the insanity of E3 before, the show starts off with press conferences from each of the three console makers as well as a few of the largest publishers in the industry. These presentations are prime real estate for game announcements, debut trailers, live gameplay demonstrations, and meme origins.

In an attempt to keep the E3 shenanigans organized, the mods institute these official discussion threads for each conference so that everybody has a go-to place to discuss them before, during, and after the show.

Keep Discussions On Topic

This thread is exclusively for the general discussion of the Nintendo live stream. Only discussion of the Treehouse Live show is allowed. Discussion involving the other company's conferences should be taken to their respective threads (once they're posted). And don't even think about going off-topic or derailing the thread with who you think is the best striker on the Hotspurs.

Specific Announcements

E3 is THE place for announcing never before seen games. It's exciting, fast-paced stuff and we're all enthusiastic to start talking about all the new toys. But, please keep in-depth discussions about specific games in their respective forums. For more information about how to help us keep things organized, go check out the E3 2016 and You! thread.

Some fierce banner competition this year! I tried to stand out by doing some hand drawn stuff and "animating" them but maybe they stood out in The Bad Way. I'd never done GIFs before so, hey, at least it was a learning experience! It was all kind of last minute and I didn't know what I was doing. Excuses, etc. I'll try harder next time!

I didn't get a chance to say in the banner thread, but thanks everyone for the kind words, it totally made my week that people thought my banner was funny :)

Jeff snapping and them walking out on a live stream was one of the funniest things I've seen on the site. Oh Nintendo. That was amazing.

To be clear I'm with them. Wow what a long, boring way to show this game.

The people in this chat are the worst. Yes, showing Pokemon for an hour like this was... sub optimal. But, I can't imagine what people were expecting! If they're willing to dedicate hours and hours to one game, why wouldn't they dedicate an hour to a game that's going to sell many many more units?

Instead of complaining about being bored, do something else! Play a game! Fold some laundry! Do your day job! Whatever else you might have going on :)

The Official ZELDA Thread. Seems okay, like a worse version of God of Tomb Raider Souls War of Us.

Zelda looked really good at least. It looked a lot like Dragon's Dogma. If you can climb on enemies I will be thrilled.

thought zelda looked tight, can't wait to lose myself in it. haters be in a hating state i suppose.

Pokemon looked like pokemon. Zelda could maybe be cool. Still not completly sold on that yet. The open world aspects could be really cool or they could end up being really shallow in comparison to other games. It seems like it can still go either way.

The Zelda game looks very pretty I still hope there are dungeons with puzzles and I wonder how many resources you can hold.

EDIT: Nvm, found it. I know people go on about it but imagine if the artists at Nintendo had the power of the other two consoles. No one can deny that Nintendo employs some seriously talented people, but give them the juiice!

You can skip back in the GB live streams, worked for me for this Nintendo stream at least.

So watching Zelda again... the frame rate is really rough at times? I don't think it's the stream. I mean it really slows down with long views, in some areas, vs some enemies. Worrying for the Wii U version.

Fair warning though: Prepare for a lot of Pokemon.

The small inventory and the item durability is scary but it seems that Nintendo is heading in the right direction. Looks like it will be a good game.

ugh..... I mean..... ugh..... Yeah I had a six pack last night, but man Nintendo's Treehouse Live is such a slog. It makes me go "YES, I'LL BUY 2 WII U IF YOU WILL JUST STOP THIS MADNESS!"

I hear Paper Mario is having or has had its turn on stream and looks awful. They have learned nothing from Sticker Star, this one again has no original characters, no story, no XP, etc. It's by all means a sequel to the trash fire that was Sticker Star. That is sad.

The Treehouse Streams are such a mess. Ideally this is what hardcore fans want, interview creators, attention to the little details, long form gameplay, the people playing the game being supportive. I tuned out during Mario Party 3DS at work, then I turned around and was seeing Fire Emblem/Shin Megami Tensei for a brief moment only to realize I missed half of it because of the bad scheduling. I just had to stop altogether even when I wanted to see Paper Mario but man we deserved a Nintendo Direct.

Hey congrats to @hach for the banner, looks great! On a side note I have to say, I am not involved in the GB community much but the positivity in the banner thread really blew my mind, especially considering what forums usually look like on any other online gaming community. I love this website.
