Earth Defense Force 5

Overview

Earth Defense Force 5 (JP: Chikyuu Boueigun 5) is the fifth core game in the Earth Defense Force series of third-person shooters where a Earth-bound military organization is equipped to deal with enormous alien insects. It departs from the continuity of the previous two games, instead making the EDF a private organization that is first called into action in 2022. The game was released on the PlayStation 4 and Steam platforms in 2017.

Players take on over a hundred missions, each of which with its own objectives, as they continue to expand their arsenal and combat experience. While several missions make significant story progress, others are simply to give the player practice against the various enemy types and mission variants.
