For Christmas my son bought me Andrew Groen’s book on Kindle (I know I’m missing half the experience with the maps and all...).

On a whim, I installed the launcher, fully expecting it would not work at all (I have nothing remotely close to a “gaming PC”. And lo and behold the damn thing runs. Not well but it runs.

I ran through the tutorial - not super excited by PvP but I started a mining career with one of the agents. Sort of amazed by the drop off in hand holding from tutorials to agent missions.

Anyways, just posting this looking for more ways to engage with the community (blogs, forums (Tapatalk compatibility a plus), etc) and learn more about how to play.

For example, yesterday the lady asked me to go mine three elements to turn into something else and I had NO IDEA where to find those elements. I YouTubed the answer and the guy just bought the end products and I thought well THAT’S kind of cheating...

Anyways, open to suggestions - I’m probably going to play an hour a day or less. Pretty casual.

    Thanks.

PS : It occurs to me that if they ever do the “Stadia thing” with this game where you could play it anywhere at anytime it would be a much bigger hit.

It's probably been 10 years since I played but I think EVE University is still kicking around. Try to join their chat ingame and you should find lots of help there.

I'm not sure any of the Giant Bomb staff ever played EVE except maybe Patrick and Drew. They mostly play "left-trigger, right-trigger" console games :)

Massive PvP battles is the key selling point for EVE though so you if you just want to mine and chill you might have more fun with singleplayer games like the X3/X4 series, Starpoint Gemini 2 or Rebel Galaxy (Outlaw).
