Well, Lionhead have been teasing 'big news' for about 2 weeks or so now.
Here it is, 800MS points for a new area to play in, new NPC's, Quests, etc etc etc.
Knothole Island DLC: http://www.lionhead.com/fable2/KnotholeIsland.aspx
Pretty good marketing imo, after all the big releases get finished with, they come out with this... It'll most likely make me put the Fable 2 disc back in the drive :)
What do you guys think? Will you be picking this one up?
Fable II
Game » consists of 13 releases. Released Oct 21, 2008
An action-oriented role-playing game set 500 years after the original Fable, this sequel starts players out in the role of a street urchin destined for greatness.
Fable 2 - The Big News is here!
Hmm if i had the money and points, i would most certainly buy this, anything to extend Fable II's life.
I knew it would involve snow in some form, i just wish the rest of the world would revert to summer, super glad theres armour!! that new outfit looks rad.
Giantbomb team! get this content on the front page!
"Thrawn said:Nah...i wouldnt go That far, i dont think its on the disc, but i dunno. If it is then damn you Molyneux!"question is, was this something they could have easily included with the game? probably."
Haha your probably right. Its most likely on the disc at the moment, and a 100kb 'download' will unlock it."

even if it isn't on disc, i think it's kind of soon to be offering dlc for a game that just came out. unless you are offering it for free, which they aren't. hopefully left 4 dead will offer up some free dlc soon. (unless micorsoft screws everyone over by making valve pay for bandwidth...)
"Death_Burnout said:Well, i think the DLC is awesome, from what i read, i will happily pay that much money, and the timing is fine, i wouldnt want this next year, by that point no one would be interested!"Psynapse said:"Thrawn said:Nah...i wouldnt go That far, i dont think its on the disc, but i dunno. Thankfully, if something is on PC i get it on PC, so im ok if L4D only gets content for the PC, on the flipside, Far Cry 2 is only (so far) getting DLC on consoles, so im screwed on that one.
That is an official Lionhead website? That is very poorly written, a 4th grader could have done better than that.
Again with the people thinking this isnt enough for $10
- Embark on 3 unique quests set in 3 unique dungeons.
- Unravel the mystical secrets of the resurrection shrine.
- Try on a whole new range of outfits and look like an armoured knight, an assassin, a barbarian or a leather-clad biker, among many others.
- Brandish 6 new weapons.
- Dozens of unique potions that will drastically alter your appearance.
- Customise your weapons the way you want with the new augment tool and a whole new array of augments.
- +50 additional leaderboards.
That plus the new location...to increase your income no doubt!
Compare that to Far Cry 2's DLC, which is also 800 points.

Still not seeing the value. This is still all stuff that should of came with the game. People who the the LE version should get this for free since the LE package got so gimped.
"Absolutely, I'd buy that. I already spent more money for 'Hal's Armour.' I could definitely fork over more ethereal points for more Fable 2."
The Limited Edition ended up being the same amount as the standard edition of the game... So technically you should of gotten Hal's Armour for free :)
"Death_Burnout said:Indeed some of it should...but guess what? its there if you want it, i wanted armour from the start, i'll have to pay for that, but im not that bothered since i love Fable II, it all depends on where you stand with extra content, i myself do not mind."Again with the people thinking this isnt enough for $10

Besides the new quests didnt necessarily need to come with the game in the first place, since it already had quests, albeit not that many.
All im saying is, this is FAR better than most DLC offers out there.

Every where i looked it was $10 more. I mean i did get Hals armour for free and all but not with the LE version.
People like me who are fans of the series would just download it straight away, free or not.
The game doesn't have enough content so it needs this hopefully it will have some type of story content.
Anyway I cant really think of any DLC that cost $10 that was worth the money.
Burnout Paradise DLC was good value.. because it was free.
