Fable 2, A lot of fun

Before I start my review I just want to say that I have never played Fable 1, or Fable as it was called before this game. I never even sniffed that game. I will say my brother beat it and loved it, but to me it seemed like an RPG for kids and I didn't want any part of that. It seemed too campy, too linear to be a true RPG.

The truth about Fable 2 is that the game is far from perfect, but there is something addicting about it.  This game just gets a hold of you and it doesn't let go until the end. It is so hard to pinpoint exactly what is so addicting about this game, it's just the general feel of it.

The end is the most disappointing part of this game. It's short, there's no real boss fight, and the final quest just feels completely empty after hours and hours of engaging and interesting quests. It feels like the creators fell into a time crunch and the ending half hour sequence was what suffered the most.

I spent a good 30 hours playing this game and 29 of them were well worth my time. It was just the ending of the story that soured the whole experience for me. That's why this game only received a 4 stars out of 5. I will also say that the beginning was very soft and pretty boring but it was short enough that it didn't really bother me. It seemed like the whole game was building up to something and that something never actually came. It felt like I was watching a glass vase falling from 40 feet up and right before the impact, it cut to the aftermath, without me being able to savor the glass breaking.

But that's not to say that this game isn't amazing. It is! I can't put my finger on what exactly is great about it, because it doesn't do anything exceptionally well, it doesn't revolutionize, it doesn't wow me, but there's this amazing quality about it that just grabs me. It's really indescribable, this game just haunts me, but it haunts me in that great way. It's the feeling I get when I'm playing a timing game like blacksmithing or bartending and it feels like a miniclip.com flash game that I spent hours on for no good reason.

I think that's why I love this game so much. It's something that I wish I could put my finger on and say this is why this game is great. The truth is there isn't one thing. It's the whole package. It's how simple the world and the story is, yet how malleable it feels because your character has such a huge impact upon what actually happens. You are the focal point and yet, you are not, because the world responds to your actions and you can actually see the results of what you did or did not do thoughout the story. I'm trying to find and grasp what makes this game great, but I really cannot do that because there really isn't anything that makes this game great. It's just a certain amount of different things done very well, blended together, to make an amazing experience. A must rent for all and only a must buy for those who are diehard Fable fans.

Fable 2 is good? Is it Fact or Fable? 0

Fable 2 is a Western RPG from British based Lionhead studios, and a fantastic entry to the Xbox 360 library. I'm going to say this from the get-go, although the combat is not as deep as most RPGs (particularly JPRGs) this does not particularly detract from the Fable 2 experience. The main strength of Fable 2 is it's atmosphere. It tries (and succeeds) in creating a world which is reminiscent of classic European fairy tales, which is an interesting and diverse land to explore, different towns and...

Despite its flaws, a Ticket to Albion is worth the asking price. 0

Fable II is an extremely ambitious game. Its scope is rather enormous, and with a quick glance, Fable II looks like a grand palace of a video game. However, when you get a little closer, as with any grand construction, the cracks begin to show. The Game begins with you choosing to be either a Male or Female orphan and you are thrown straight into a brief exposition/tutorial sequence. In this, as in the Childhood sequence from the original Fable, you need to do odd jobs to get some gold. The sta...
