What's your favorite class type to play as?

#1 Posted by ImHungryx10 (233 posts) -

I personally like upgrading the classes for everyone else so I choose worker.

How's about you aye?

#2 Posted by ververdan0226 (1573 posts) -

So far I've played most of my time between the worker, ranger and mage. But I think I like the ranger best. Are you still having online issues like I am??

#3 Posted by MrMoonlight (9 posts) -

Either the worker or the mage

#4 Posted by Fr0Br0 (3089 posts) -

I always play a worker when the match starts. But my favorite class to play as is the Ranger. Charged shotgun to the face followed by a shot from an arrow makes me feel good.

#5 Posted by Gav47 (1542 posts) -

I play as the priest and the ranger.
I like healing my team mates as it helps you get into the other base in large groups and the ranger's arrows can be fired pretty fast.

I love playing the ranger. Has anyone been successful with soldier? I can't get the hang of it.

I guess I'll be "that guy" and say I like each class at its own times.  I've had a superbly gratifying experience with EACH class available when I played it at the right point in time with respect to the action that was going on and the objectives that we were completing.  Being a Priest behind the lines of a big battle and giving continuous lifelines to your warriors, to being a Dark(?) Priest sucking the life out of enemy units while your Ranger teammate picks them off, to holding down chokepoints with the Worker's bombs and Ranger's shotgun, to coming into a big battle late and using the Mage's area spells for clean-up.

It was great gameplay design with how easy it is to change classes in your base, but it was straight-up ingenuity with how you can change classes by picking up other people's hats in the field.

I prefer priest/dark priest.

But i'll play whatever class is needed at the time.

I always start of as the worker. I like to upgrade all the classes first. When every class is upgraded, i tend to go for warrior, ranger.

#11 Posted by Kombat (2205 posts) -

I play worker a lot.

#12 Posted by ch13696 (4582 posts) -

The ranger or the worker. The worker in the beginning. And after everythings upgraded then move to the ranger.

#13 Posted by MAST (726 posts) -

Seems like no one likes the Warrior very much...

My favorites so far are Fire Mage, upgraded Worker, and Dark Priest. In that order. Which might change after i've played more. I wouldn't say i have an all time favorite yet.

i haven't been able to get into an online game yet... GRRR!!!!

I usually play as a worker and warrior

#16 Posted by SilentCommando (579 posts) -

I like to play as worker, warrior, ranger and occasionally a priest.

#17 Posted by Rockaholic94 (2 posts) -

I'm a worker at the start of a match and then I switch between worker, warrior, and ranger.

#18 Posted by Damien (1384 posts) -

Dark priest sitting on top of an outpost by your castle draining any enemies that pass by feels real good.

#19 Posted by warxsnake (2635 posts) -

priest  / dark priest

quickly alternating that combo can seriously win a game if you use him correctly, you can keep your team up and running while draining life out of the other team. its by far my favorite class.

#20 Posted by Spadge (49 posts) -

It depends on the map and the scenario.

By default I love the worker. Building the fortress is always the way to go and you just sense the relief of your team after the doors have been breached only to find I'm already there, rebuilding and with excess resources to boot. When he gets upgraded though is when I go to town. Bombs are just awesome. Also, it's the only class I use to capture the princess.
However, if there's a serious choke point I tend to go for the priest, securing myself in an outpost and keeping the team alive. I also tend to go dark priest when the fight's at the walls, either theirs or ours. The drain can really keep things in your favour during a drawn out battle.

So I guess I'm a support sort of player. However, I do like to take the mage out every once in a while, charge his area attack right up and suicide run him into knots and chokes, claiming in excess of 100pts at times (though usually hovering more around the 50-80 mark).

Worker

I Love the worker and the Black Mage

#24 Posted by JoelTGM (5596 posts) -

I play the worker the most, to get things moving, and then I usually like to play as a warrior.

#25 Posted by AsianSwagger (151 posts) -

Mage and Ranger are my favorite to use. I love running into a chaotic battle and just freezing everyone to allow my teamates a split second to follow up or just chilling in the back  while taking out enemies with my bow.

#26 Posted by StarwindX9 (145 posts) -

I find this odd... I rarely see anyone playing ranger. Most matches I am in they don't bother upgrading ranger because no one plays as that class. Personally my favourite class by far is the priest/dark priest. I also play as the warrior when rolling in for the capture as the extra hp helps.

#27 Posted by gingertastic_10 (4141 posts) -

I play as the worker for the first 10 mins of the game. I try to get all the materials to upgrade stuff before I go and play as a warrior.

#28 Posted by Scullinator (512 posts) -

Its nice to see that most people understand the true spirit of this game which is teamwork .  I thought that when I joined an online match that it would be mostly people choosing warrior and going off to kill the other side but most people choose ranger and really help to build up the castle first.  Restores my faith a little bit in online gaming.

i start out as a worker, then warrior...its my fav class

#30 Posted by wewantsthering (1551 posts) -

Same as most people, I start as the worker, upgrade the classes then mess around with all of them off and on. I can't seem to ever get a game with more than one other human player so I have to play every role because the AI so so stupid.

i find the worker is really rewarding as well
#32 Posted by Flaminglizard (74 posts) -

I normally start off as a worker and then change to a warrior or a ranger.

#34 Posted by artofwar420 (6251 posts) -

Lately I been playing as a villager, it's the most hilarious thing to fly past everyone with the princess.
#35 Posted by PeasForFees (2411 posts) -

Worker is a great starting point

#36 Posted by JukeboxJoe (242 posts) -

I tend to start as archer, I love charging my shots, ducking in and firing, then retreating and recharging. You can rack up kills at the start of the match.

Warrior I also play a lot, especially when it's upgrade you can just tear through ranks of enemies.

If I see a hat lying about that'd be useful I grab it and use it for a while, then drop it again later. That's usually how I end up playing wizard or priest.

Worker is great, when we clear out an outpost near some iron ore I'll kill a worker, steal his hat and grab as much ore as I can before I die
#37 Posted by TragicallyErock (109 posts) -

I go worker every time, unless the other team is controlling the main Ore resource on the map.

In that case I'll go priest so I can keep my team alive long enough to fight control back from the enemy.

#38 Posted by Fbomb (1168 posts) -

By far my favourite is the Priest/Dark Priest combo. I just wish it was easier to choose who I want to heal, instead of having to tap the button repeatedly until I get the right player.

#39 Posted by Lucky_Charms (2 posts) -

I'm always the worker.  I like building stuff, and then either guarding the princess or joining the ambush.
I sometimes play the priest too, but I suck so I die really quickly.

#40 Posted by CSXLoser (582 posts) -

the upgraded worker...throwing bombs is so satisfying

Besides it, i mainly play Ranger and Priest.

#41 Posted by resurgentcaesar (9 posts) -

I love building as a worker. I wish we could build like huge seige battering rams in a later update

Very right! Why cant all players be like you :/
Ive been playing it for two days now and some games i have played have been awful. No one working as a team! One person running in to the castle and retrieving the princess etc. What are they thinking FFS. Some games i have played have been excellent and im enjoying every minute of it.
