I myself prefer the simple turn-based system (e.g. FF III). I appreciate being able to take your time and to be in control all through the fight.

FFXII has the best combat system of the series in my opinion. I like the pre-planning of battles afforded by the gambits, which certainly adds an extra layer of depth, but ultimately I love the fact that the ATB battle system is in a real-time world, making it feel more connected to that world.

classic ATB, because its so much more unique then the classic turn based combat, which is just fine don't get me wrong. Keeps your on your toes and makes it more action packed!

I like the old Conditional Turn-Based Battle System. I don't mind ATB, but I really don't like the FF11 battle system. Thats just too loose for me.

I like the old-school style, but I actually quite liked the system in FF XII.

I loved the CTB from FFX. Let you really plan out the order of your attacks because of the order display down the side of the screen.

I think old school ATB was the best. Although, X's CTB was pretty fun.

I appreciated the freshness of the gambit system in 12, but I'm a sucker for turn-based JRPGs.
