You mean how you make something using the GB API? You learn a programming language, and then you use that programming language to pull data from the GB API.
It's a tribute to the mods here that you got that response EpicKool... Others would have linked you to what a generalized API is. Hell, even Wikipedia has it (mostly) right. Maybe if you specified your goal in learning the GB API a mod could help you do more than put things in perspective... not that such should be underrated. :D

For what it's worth he wasn't a mod at the time. Just a regular user trying to provide an answer to a very vague question.
