I do find it hard to pay attention the entire time. I get restless and start doing other stuff, and then lose track of what they're talking about at the moment. Like right now. So I'm going to guess 75%?
How much do you actually "listen"?
Asking because when I listen to the Bonbcast I am usually browsing the web as well. This leads to me zoning out from their conversation and then going back a few minutes later with a "Wait...what are they talking about?" So for me it'd be around 50% of the overall Bombcast I'd actually listen to and understand what they are on about.
In the rare occasions where I am not doing anything else it'd be around 75% I guess.
I usually play a game or something "during" so when things get really intense I either pause it or miss some small part. Or if they're talking about wrestling games or something I usually zone out for a bit.
Edit: Though I always choose a game that doesn't require a lot of attention or reading/listening to the story. Assasin's Creed 2 is a good example because you know when the story parts are coming and there are large streches in that game where you just run around climbing stuff.
100% as I usually lie in my bed and relax while listening. Instead of watching television for a couple hours I much rather focus my attention on the bombcast, the mega64 podcast, the tested podcast or the screened podcast.
Usually 75% first time through but I listen through all my podcasts many times so I end up hearing the whole thing. I listen more than once because I constantly need noise of some kind, silence bothers me.
I listen to a lot of podcasts and I usually do it while doing something else. When I listen to the Bombcast, it always has my utmost attention. Back in the day, I would kinda half-listen to it and I'd miss something and then have to rewind to figure out what was going on. A great example would be the whole Peter Molyneaux's Balls segment. I was working on a website for a friend of mine and then I hear Vinny talking about how one of his balls will die and not come back with everyone else laughing hysterically in the background. I had no idea what was going on at that point so I had to skip back a bit.
Nowadays I listen to the Bombcast on Tuesday nights while I'm going to sleep. That's a great time where I'm not distracted by anything else and I can concentrate. I have it queued up so that another podcast comes on right after it and then it's sleepy time.
picked 75%, but more like 80%. I'm usually playing a game or web-surfing while listening, so i don't absorb a small portion of the bombcast.
" 100% as I usually lie in my bed and relax while listening. Instead of watching television for a couple hours I much rather focus my attention on the bombcast, the mega64 podcast, the tested podcast or the screened podcast. "Do you really just lie in your bed for up to eight hours a week? Wait, that sounds silly when I put it that way. Actually, sometimes I'll find myself just staring at the bombcast page, only realizing it when there's some kind of break in the conversation. Lately I've been losing complete focus on the Bombcast, either because of the game I'm playing, or because of having to type out stuff. 75% here.
75% makes no sense to vote 100% unless all you are doing is sitting and listening. Even if you are doing something else you are mildly distracted. I would've voted 80 if that was an option, but 75 is accurate as well.
" @HandsomeDead said:Yeah. Just put on the magic goggles and you'll be able to listen too." 200.6% "Do you listen to the inverted Bombcast? "
I try to listen to it all, but not everything appeals to me. I'll occasionally zone out if they start talking about something I don't really care about. It never lasts very long, so 75% is a bit drastic. Still, I rarely pay attention the entire time.
" @RE_Player92 said:I know you didn't mean to be rude at all put there are people that actually say I'm crazy for listening to an hour or two hour podcast while just lying down and relaxing. What is the difference between watching a show like The Simpsons and the local news and me listening to a podcast. Your watching a box with pictures on it and hundreds of ads and I'm having 4 dudes conversation plugged into my ears, am I really that crazy compared to you?? Sorry I just had to rant, not at you, I just had to get it off my chest lol." 100% as I usually lie in my bed and relax while listening. There are certainly times when I zone out, especially if they're talking about something I'm not particularly interested in or if I'm doing something else. But as I'm one of those guys that frequently goes back and listens to Bombcasts past, eventually I pay attention to the whole thing. So, 100%.
100%...also I think I have some problem because I listen to the newest podcast twice in a row every Tuesday night...
Well listening to it while falling in and out of sleep...usually around 50% the first time through, but I pick up the other parts on other listens later on
I tend to listen to it late at night and put it on my iPod and lie in bed with headphones staring at the ceiling giggling to myself over some of the stuff said.
I've found if I try to do stuff on the computer while it's playing.. well i'm male, I can't multi-task. I hear it.. I just don't understand anything haha.
I always listen while on the commute, so 100%, as I just zone out. Almost went off the road with some of the circuit bending!
