Loved It.

#52 Edited by Excast (784 posts) -

Not a subscriber, but it's nice to see some content reminiscent of the old Whiskey Media days. I enjoyed BTSD and and am glad to see you two back doing what you enjoy.

This is great, looking forward to listening to it. I really need to get a premium membership soon!

#54 Posted by Andorski (5173 posts) -

Personal opinion: This should be free content. I'm probably being optimistically naive, but I think the vast majority of subscribers here don't subscribe because we want the content behind the paywall. I think a lot of us subscribe because we think good content should be supported by those enjoying it - not just by marketers and their ads.

Keeping the video stuff behind the paywall makes sense. They are usually +1 hour long, and I assume it cost a lot of money (compared to just having articles being posted) to have that be streamed for the GB audience. I wouldn't think podcasts cost as much to host online, and having a podcast that isn't game focused could be a new entry way for non-GB fans to come and check out this site.

This is just my two cents. Either way, I enjoy just having more stuff get posted on this site.

@andorski: It has nothing to do with video games. It should be premium. It's pretty much the definition of extra content.

I second the Cinemabomb title.

The mailbag videos is just the GB crew eating a bunch of shit and those videos are free.

I second the Cinemabomb title.

You people are making me hungry.

#60 Edited by Milkman (16484 posts) -

@andorski: The mailbag videos are just someone picking up a camera from their desk. It's hardly even content in a traditional sense.

Just listened to it and it brought back memories of the old Screened days. Looking forward to future instalments.

And they often recieve games in those mailbags. Games I wish we'd see them play more often, but that's a whole other discussion.

Damnit. If I had known sooner I would've scooped the first episode before I left the house. Just know that I will listen to it eventually because you two are awesome. I've not been following many movies since you dudes left Screened so its cool to have a way to keep up with movies again. Thanks for doing this.

I also love the CineBomb name for the podcast, although you guys do what you want of course :p

Happy to have this back, and long live the ScreenedCast!

#66 Edited by JasonR86 (9587 posts) -

I really liked it. It reminded me of the good old days of that site that shall not be named.

...also, guys, political overtones in Star Trek? What?

The Giant Bomb TANGcast!

(Because seriiously, they're not talking about games.)

#68 Posted by Oscar__Explosion (2181 posts) -

Never having heard the original Screened podcast I enjoyed listening to the movie talk (even though I'm not into movies at all) or maybe I just like listening to Rorie and Alex's voice. Either way, great work!

#69 Posted by probablytuna (3525 posts) -

While I admittedly never got into the Screened podcast, I'm happy to see more content being created and I'm looking forward to some movie talk to compliment the Bombcast. Keep doing good work guys!

This is a very nice addition to the Giant Bomb content. Also we need more dog related content on the Giant Bomb site.

Here is the obligatory dog picture:

Very happy to have it back, I've missed it a great deal. Always appreciate both your views on movies.

By the way, do you still hate child actors/actresses Matt? :D

I like Cinemabomb as a name because it sort of sounds like Cinnabon.

I'm down with Cinemabomb. Sounds delicious. Plus, I'm sure lots of the movies discussed will be total bombs. I vote Cinemabomb.

The Box Office Bombcast?

#77 Posted by Nightriff (4866 posts) -

Glad to see that it is back and that the curse I accidentally put on Screened is cured for the time being. I started listening at the beginning of 2012 and you guys stopped recording weekly and were very sporadic and then I was the last email ever read on BtSD so I feel responsible for everything....please forgive me?

I am cool with it behind a pay wall but is it possible to have a podcast like that still available on apps like instacast? All my listening happens on commute and if I can avoid having to manually download it to my phone from elsewhere that would be awesome but not a deal breaker if you can't.

As a premium member, I wish it weren't premium content because I want to throw it into my podcast app.

Otherwise, super happy with it so far!

Hey Matt same question as @jchenderson. I use Pocket Casts and would prefer to get it directly from there rather than downloading it. Cheers

You guys should just be able to plug the RSS feed into your podcasting app and it'll work. It definitely works on Pocket Casts, I just tested it out. It should work with just about any podcast app.

@rorie: Seriously, you are REEEEEALLY trying to get us all to subscribe, aren't you? You know our weakness? You're like Zod with a handful of Kryptonite, forcing us Supermen to kneel before you!

You're such an evil tyrant, Rorie...and I'll be subscribing very soon. Just please...don't suck my soul out through the back of my neck. I finally got it to stop hurting so much.

#81 Edited by spankingaddict (2655 posts) -

It would be nice to have Ryan/Patrick as guests on the show .

Great Job .

#82 Edited by golguin (3833 posts) -

I listened to the movie podcast because before the screened stuff I didn't really get movie recommendations or suggestions. Good premium content.

Eh. I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm saying I would have never thought if the political angle myself.

#86 Posted by Demoskinos (14521 posts) -

@rorie: I liked the episode. I don't know how it would play on a podcast format but I liked the few times you guys did the worse or worser stuff. Something about seeing you guys argue about what movie was more hot garbage was always entertaining. It would be fun if you could possibly incorporate that into the show somehow. You should also probably talk about the new Grown Ups movie since you know its your favorite franchise. ;D

I have a really good idea, if you guys are itching for topics to discuss, what about revisiting old releases that have come out between the last screened podcast and today? We could even get an informal poll going about which titles would be great to discuss.

I worked fine on Downcast. It also worked without me having to put in my log in credentials, which I assume is a kink that needs to be worked out.

#96 Posted by cooljammer00 (1499 posts) -

It blows my mind that background needs to be given on Screened, BTSD, Rorie, and Alex. Was it really all that long ago?

#97 Edited by Humanity (8721 posts) -

@rorie: I haven't seen the movies that you discuss in that Podcast but am planning to do so in the near future - is it spoiler free or do you get pretty in-depth about the plot and such?

This may not work going forward as the RSS will start asking you for your GB user/pass in the future. I'll check with the engineers to see what else we can do to make it easier to access on other devices.
