UPF 9/9/2016 cuts out just after the 23 minute mark

Roku 3 4200X, software version 7.2.0

This only worked for me once, it hasn't worked since, and I had to skip 40 minutes past the cut off.

Is anyone else having syncing issues between audio and visual for some videos? When I was watching the Hitman Colorado QL on my Roku, the audio was getting way ahead of the video.

I'm on a Roku 3 4200x, software version 7.2.0

Same problem here, about halfway through the Horizon 3 quick look I realized the audio is about 30 seconds ahead of the video.

Apologies for the lack of updates here. We are still waiting on the Roku people to transfer some permissions with regards to the email that is tied to our ability to fix bugs with our Roku channel. The old email was a whiskeymedia account; we're trying to get it shifted over to a CBS interactive email address that we can actually access but we're waiting on the Roku people to finish that process up. Until we have access to that side of things, bugfixing is a bit tough. I'll see if I can get back on the horn with them to see if we can speed it up.

@rorie: Thanks for the update, Rorie. Once the top men can truly get their hands on it, we should have nothing to worry about.

Thanks Rorie. I sure hope Top Men get on this soon, because between the crashing thing and this new sync issue, the Roku app is unreliable at best, unusable at worst.

On that note, so far I've had sync issues in the Forza Horizon 3 QL, the Hitman Colorado QL, and the Dishonored 2 Unfinished.

Thanks @rorie ! Also seeing the issues with the new Hitman and Dishonored 2 videos. The EA E3 Conference dies after 3 minutes.

Forza audio Sync is off by minutes.

The 'play from beginning' and fast forward past 23 minutes worked for me this time.

The Hitman Colorado video's audio sync is way off.

edit: Play from beginning, zoom past the first cut off point at 1:13:00, and it cuts out again at 3:27:00.

^ for me the Playstation VR Prelaunch Special cuts of at 1hr 53 minutes. Using Roku 4, wired of course (wired master race).

What can I do to get my roku to work better with Giant Bomb? I literally bought this Roku and a soundbar so that I could use the Giant Bomb app. Goddammit, I'd piss on a spark plug if I thought it'd do any good!

Weird how they were able to push fixes to the app less than a year ago.

@capwnd: @bummey: @bacon: I apologize for the slowness on this. We have been waiting on a response from Roku about our issues for a while now. We're trying to see what we can do on our own but there isn't a huge amount we can do with the current channel until Roku gets back to us. If they don't, we'll look into some other options like making a new channel, but obviously we'd prefer not to have to do that.

What I do after it crashes, is resume then immeadiatly pause it to get a time stamp. Then I start the video over and fast forward past the point it crashed by at least a few minutes. Seems to work after that on most videos. Longer videos like the PSVR launch and Mario Party Party crash multiple times, but the same technique applies.

Vinnyvania SotN 5 is way out of sync and no amount of restarting has fixed it. Probably another problem entirely.

Mario Party Party 7 does us all a favor by cutting out at 2:09. If you could make this one fail earlier and more often, that'd be great.

Alright, we finally got a response from Roku. I'm not sure how long it'll take to get everything set up so we can actually maintain the channel again, but hopefully it'll be soon. Sorry for the delays.

Just echoing others and aware @rorie: is very much on it....

This last week's UPF (28th Oct) cuts off after about 10 minutes. I watch most GB content through Roku and the issue seems to only be with videos longer than 1hr 15mins. For example I watched most of the Shenmue endurance without a hitch as those videos were all about an hour. However most Hitman videos (1hr 30+) cut off unexpectedly. Hope this helps narrow down the issue.

Pleeeeeaase fix this! Got home from work, drop a shot of Captain Morgan Cannon Blast into my pumpkin beer, started watching the Mario Party 8 and it cut out way before there was any notable suffering!

I actually fired up the IGN app... please don't make me do that again!

Also crashed after about an hour into 1 of 6 of Drew & Alexis Extra Life, and wouldn't even start playing part 2 of 6.

App won't even load for me on Roku 3. Tried redownloading app many times, even factory resetting my device. When I launch the app it goes black for a second as if it is about to load, then just sends me back to the home screen.

The channel's been loading up just fine on my roku 3.

edit: This was in response to the above comments about the channel not loading, not part of the comment thread below about the channel not keeping login info.

Channel updated? Looks like I have a new version.

...but it seems like it loses my login after exiting the channel now. That's a new bug for me.

I got the same problem. Also the videos wont even play.

I can't find the link to it anymore, but somewhere on the forums there was a code you could stick in the Roku to get the "beta" Giant Bomb Roku app. If the (updated?) normal player doesn't work for you, you could try digging up the code and seeing if that one will play your videos. That worked for me the last time the normal player just stopped working.

Right now, I've got two versions of the app installed- "1.2 build 2" (what I think is the normal one, whose icon just changed in the Roku channel) and "1.3 build 1". (which I think is the "beta")

They pushed out an update the other day to the official channel.

The new update keeps asking for an ID link after you close the app, but the videos will still play. Also, all of the Vinnyvania videos (the only series I checked) do not work.

Haven't had any problems with linking and then watching anything (or at least the things I've tried). Just a little frustrating to have to keep on going through the process each time I launch the channel.

I'm also having to connect my account over and over. Also Drew and Alexis part 2 Extra Life stream doesn't work.

It's that time of the year again, when we're all going home to our parents' houses that have Rokus. Yeah it's giving me the same link account annoyance.

I had the same issue, just re linked the account and was fixed for me, not sure why I got lucky. I help with some beta testing for some roku boxes if I find anything unusual I will report them to the team. I can't guarantee anything and for reasons I can't go into much more then that.

Also getting the premium linking bug. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Unfortunately I am having the same issue with constantly having to relink my account every time I use it.

Just wanted to say I'm having the same issue mentioned above having to constantly link my roku to my account.

Been having the same issue as the videos that do work don't play in HD.

Also, why doesn't the site have a Demo Derby search? All other features do, even Blue Bombing.

Hope they submitted the update for review before 11/18, because that was the 2016 cutoff date and normal operations won't resume until the second week of January.
