It's not their series, it's Activisions.
They're not passing it on to Treyarch, Activision are.
I see no harm Treyarch doing a CoD game every other year. Sure, they're not as good as IW's, but IW are only going to release one every 2 years, Treyarch releasing one on the alternate years is fine. It takes nothing away from IW's.

Nope, It's just called Modern Warfare 2. It's still considered part of the CoD series though, despite not having it in the title.

Maybe the Treyarch games are the reason why they dropped the Call of Duty name. So they canhave that, and Infinity Ward can have the Modern Warafare name.
