Just to clarify for everyone, Person pages are only for people who have been credited in at least one game. A licensed appearance in a football game doesn't count. Except in rare cases where an athlete makes the end credits for consulting or whatever, they should not be in our database as Persons.
Pages for Athletes
I love you too.
And I hear you about sportsmens and their place in our list and our hearts, but our data must be truthful and complete above all else! If we deny Some Football Guy his place in video game history, what's next? No Mario page because he's "too obvious?"
If the pages become choked with real-life jerks and our index pages become too tricky to navigate due to all that sports, that's a problem we'll solve with swift and intelligent design (meaning I'll send the URL to the page to Dave and beg him to make it better). Being selective is against our goal of total video game knowledge.
Put another way, if we were going to be selective, I wouldn't have created a page for a Commodore 64-based masturbation simulator over the weekend.
"TheGTAvaccine said:Hey man, it may teach you a few things."Link to this so called masturbation simulator?"loool
What?"
"I love you too.Yeah, that is true. I guess if it's (in) a video game, then it should be on the site. And if we start debating if something/someone is page-worthy or not, everyone will have their own opinion, and it would only end in a complex mess. And I hear you about sportsmens and their place in our list and our hearts, but our data must be truthful and complete above all else! Hey, he said C-64...never said it was a video game....
(tee hee)
Jeff, I agree with you about not having different pages for all athletes but can't we at least keep pages for cover athletes? If companies put them on the cover of a video game, then they obviously did something special for the industry, and also go down in the franchise's history.

But Jeff Gordon did a lot of content in Nascar 09...
Cover athletes, the gray area.
Now lets all go add information to the Stroker page.
so does this mean bye bye to all those pages about wrestling divas?
Diid i had fun moderating those hundred of pictures.....

"Now lets all go add information to the Stroker page."yeah it would be good of people did more work on the real games, like stroker (what is stroker?)
"Now lets all go add information to the Stroker page."Ahhhh yeahh...
"I think some of you are getting confused. You can still add athletes/sportsmen as characters, just not under the 'Person' category, unless they helped and are credited with the actual creation of the game."haaaa thanks for pointing that out, thought that character and person were the same thing, and i know better that's the worst.
What time is it? ah... note to self: when waking up at 7 for work dont go to sleep at 3;30 anumore
"So, as characters, are they allowed real life images, or restricted to in-game?We prefer in-game shots, especially for the main image on the page. But just like we accept fan art and other unofficial images for games, we'll allow photos of game characters.
(Prays for the later)"
If we didn't, we would be sadly unable to bring you this amazing Shaq photo:
I look forward to seeing some fan art of real-life athletes. It might make moderating the image queue more enjoyable. :)
