(2011 vs 2012) Prediction: 2012 in gaming will be...
I think 2012 has potential to be better than 2011 but all around will be equal to it. Here is why:
Ghost Recon: Future Solider
Mass Effect 3
Max Payne 3
Assassin’s Creed 3
Bioshock: Infinite
Diable III
Far Cry 3
Grand Theft Auto V
Halo 4
Hitman: Absolution
Treyarch COD
Possibilities: The Last Guardian, The Last of Us, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm
Plus many more
2012 will be the last big year for current gen systems…
I have ZERO interest in any of the releases next year (save maybe ME3 and hitman). Much worse than 2011 for me. Great reason not to upgrade my PC yet.
Binary Domain, Asura's Wrath, Syndicate, Borderlands 2, Spec Ops, Reckoning, Bioshock Infinite, and Mass Effect 3 are the reasons I can't wait for this year to be over. But that's all I'm interested in on this list.
2012 has no chance against 2011. I'm looking forward to Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands 2, Rainbow 6, and Diablo 3. Everything else I've heard of either bores me or, well, bores me.
Many of these sequels are coming out too soon. Halo 4 already? Assassins Creed every year? I really want Bioware to delay Mass Effect 3, too. There's a reason it looks exactly like ME2. Also, most of these franchises don't interest me. So it should be an off-year for me. I need it.
I'm looking forward to games which I don't know about yet that will come out of nowhere and surprise me.
Also:
For me it isn't the games that will excite me next year, but the possibility of seeing (in some form) the next generation of consoles at the next E3. Assuming this happens it might be even more exciting than this year for gaming in general, but games-wise maybe not.
ololol. It's gonna be a good year. Darksiders II, Kingdom of Whatever: Reckoning, and Bioshock Infinite are my most anticipated games, I think.

Yeah... I didn't feel like looking up how to spell their doofy fictional high-fanciful world- that doesn't mean I don't want to play it, though!
I'm looking forward to Mass Effect 3, Bioshock Infinite, GTAV, The Last Guardian and Assassin's Creed III, which isn't a lot when compared to the amount of games I was excited about for this year.
I think next year will have bigger highs than this one, but they will be fewer and farther between. I base this off of 2009 to 2010, where...well, to be honest, we got the titles that all of this year's and next year's sequels will be based upon! Sure, Skyrim, Catherine, Bastion, Deadly Premonition, Amnesia, and Super Meat Boy are titles that aren't getting repeated/aren't repeats, but 2012 is largely follow-ups to other titles, especially those that released in 2010.
The only games next year I need to play are BioShock Infinite and Persona 5 (if it comes out.) I also should probably play Mass Effect 3, and luckily I won't be paying for it as my roommate is far more interested in that franchise than I.
Next year will be just like this year: A lot of established properties getting their due with a few original titles here and there that will surprise everyone and go on to spawn their own sequels and reboots. The Wii U will probably come out and the launch lineup will consist of games that were released 6 months prior on the other consoles and a handful of unique titles, one of which will be a party game of some sort. It will be the only one that sells.
So... It will be about the same. As always. Hopefully this is the year that breaks Call of Duty, though I doubt it. That game is turning into Madden for a certain subset of people.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD! Oh and Mass Effect 3 and Bioshock Inifnite and...all those other games. It's gonna be a good year, looking forward to it.
I think it will better than 2011 and pretty much equel to 2010 with more quality releases early in the year and traditionally some hot games at the end of the year. Syndicate, Mass Effect 3, GTA V, probably XCOM, Hitman Absolution, Tomb Raider and my most anticipated BioShock Infinite. I also hope for proper Assassin's Creed III and maybe, just maybe Half-Life 3 announced at E3 with the release by the end of the year. That would probably make it the best year in gaming ;)
This industry is milking games out like worthless resources. We need a 2003 gaming famine or something..
Can't see how 2012 won't be much better with:
Diablo 3, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, The Syndicate, Max Payne 3, Halo 4, Prey 2, ME3, The Witcher 2 on 360, Torchlight 2, Bioshock: Infinite, and the New Rainbow Six(better be worth this long wait Ubi you fuckers).
2011 had more let down games than any year ever for me.

LOL The last post I made with D I A B L O in it, it was changed to an E on the end. I have no idea why. Spell Check or some crazy error I guess...
It certainly starts with a bang that's for sure (Final Fantasy XIII-2, Mass Effect 3, Max Payne 3, Ninja Gaiden 3, RE: Operation Racoon City, Tales of Graces F, Syndicate, Twisted Metal, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, The Darkness II, SoulCalibur V all hitting in the first quarter). This might be one of the most crammed first quarters in gaming history.
