hey all!! Who here likes the black version of the website (white text on black), and who here likes the new white version (black text on white background)? I personally still use the black version, maybe because I am used to it.
black version/white version
white just shouts out , "hey, I'm here! Notice me!!!" but Black is cool and doesn't need all the attention.
"black "Pictured left is a man who in my eyes is an Australian national hero. Peter Norman was never again allowed to compete for Australia after taking home the silver in 68 for having anything to do with the events pictured and even had to be invited by the United States when we hosted the games in 2000 which is an embarrasment. The documentary Salute is a must see for anyone interested in this moment in history.
Back on topic though. I have never even laid eyes on the white version.
which man is the Australian national hero? yeah, wasn't it 1968 for the black power salute? is it the man on the first place podium or the man pictures on the right?
The white dude on the left of picture is the Australian. Peter Norman. He was under pressure not to be involved but he went and took his place participated in the awarding of the metals and let the guys have their moment anyway . He was basically shunned for the rest of his life for just standing there which took some balls.
oh that's stupid...he didn't even give the salute..yeah I think the other two were Americans, and they were shunned too unfortunately
Black, the site is obviously designed with black in mind. For white they just switched some code, the background is white but everything is the same.. makes it look out of place.
wow, that's sad about Peter Norman. I looked him up on Wikipedia. IN the picture are the Americans Tommie Smith (1st place), Peter Norman (2nd, Australian), and John Carlos (3rd and on RIGHT)....there is now a statue of this moment at the American University San Jose State in San Jose, California
