I make one little throwaway comment regarding a small irony in my personal forum browsing experience and next thing you know my inbox is blowing up!

@pyromagnestir: It sounded like they are trying to market BrazzersAfterDark (like some party website..? i dunno) and some social networking site run by brazzers.. They made it sound like there aren't gonna be any hardcore porn ads or anything like that..
Definitely controversial though, that is for sure.
Well that makes more sense I guess. Still I thought the Powers That Be were trying to make the fighting game scene more popular e-sports wise, and being so few degrees of separation away from a porn site (outside of playboy or something a bit more like that perhaps) just isn't possible for a "legitimate" business this day and age.
Well, lets not kid ourselves. This is probably the best opportunity for most of the FGC to actually get laid for once. Maybe it'll even help take the edge off that oppressed sexual frustration and desperation that leads to their overly-aggressive and competitive nerd rage behavior.
OMG I'm kidding... Jesus. Calm down.
Seriously though. Who cares.

And you're right, it's not. In order for this, and by this I mean Brazzers entering the "League" by sponsoring entire venues, teams, etc etc, and not just sponsoring one guy, to work, they almost have to take their name off of this stuff. It doesn't really help that Brazzers after dark and Amateur U are striving to be the portals between their main brand and the outside world and probably don't care dramatically about the public viewpoint of the companies they associate with. PR wise, they're at the bottom, clawing their way up the best way they know how. But damn man, when that happens, you have be careful to not get dragged down. All of a sudden, Brazzers problems (of which there are many) are your problems. It's definitely dangerous befellows, no pun intended.
@Getz: It owns that you're white knighting an industry built on the backs of drug addicts and women who were abused as children.

"Both Tom Cannon and Alex Jebaily have said they wont allow BRZ on stream. No BRZ tag, and probably no BRZ tshirt"
So...maybe the community will just, self regulate itself.
seems logical, doubt MLG will let it as well. people are blowing this out of porportion.
to be fair, compared to most other porn outlets and specially porn websites, Brazzers is pretty classy for sleezy Internet porn sites. Again just relatively speaking.
I don't really care, it depends how FGC wants to be perceived by the mass media, I don't think there is anything wrong with being sponsored by Brazzers and if FGC is okay with being alienated by some aspects of society then why the hell not.
To be honest, its pretty fucking good combination as far as marketing go; there will be a lot of crossover between the two products.
p.s even when I was watching porn from Brazzers (few years back, I have moved on to better porn lol), I never actually visited the site that often aka never paid a dime for it.......... chances are people who are watching streams of fighting games are internet savy enough to get their porn for free. Just sayin

Somewhere in New York, I imagine Arturo Sanchez is yelling, "E-sports aaaaaaAAAAAAaaaaaaaa" to no one in particular as he figures out what to do for the next MLG tournament.
@SlightConfuse: Yeah.

I know Joe is excited from getting sponsored by a company he thinks is fun, but honestly...It really is poison to any brand their trying to establish. The FGC has a ton of players that are under 21, I don't know if any 21+ event can sustain itself in any sort of long term meaningful way. If the other big EVO series are going to block BRZ from essentially attending, all they can really do is their own in house stuff and I don't really see the financial appeal for it. Brazzers doesn't really gain from this.
But if it's just Joe, eh, whatever.

His twitter feed seems to imply a lot of pacing.
Whatever duder. I'll continue watching G4 for their yearly coverage of the Adult Entertainment Expo which are aired during prime time.
@Mesoian: also i believe companies have some say on how games are sued in tourments that why capcom is not a MLG i think. id imagine they will veto brazzers as well.
the fact that most tounrys are open to all ages mean this is might not go anywhere
@SlightConfuse: According to Sasha Grey and some other totally not insane people porn is art.
Can't veto art bro.
The bottom line to all this, Tom Cannon already said he won't let Brazzers logos be on Evo streams, Jabailey won't let Brazzers logos be on the CEO streams and Capcom probably won't let Brazzers run tournament.
LI Joe is one of the nicest guys in the fighting game community and I wish him the best, he deserves to have a sponsor but this probably won't work out.
Well first of all the FGC is not a unified institution so this doesn't reflect on them as a whole, but I do agree that this seems particularly scuzzy. As a gamer I really hate to see this sort of thing go down.
Kudos to them for not fucking around anymore and making the alienation of women an official cornerstone of the FGC. Now people don't need to speculate anymore!

Fuck Kotaku
I'm almost disappointed that this seems to be a non story as to see this whole mess continue to flourish would be fantastic...

Glass houses.
@CaptainLovely: Ugh, more like Amerikkkans amirite? *puts three cocks in a woman's ass* They're so uncivilized.
Anyways thanks for the input Guy Who Made A Fresh New Account To White Knight Porn On A Videogames Website. You're not asinine at all.
Its not so much that as the timing. This is coming just on the heels of two major controversies within the community about how they view women.Only in America where porn = misogyny, while the rest of the world laughs at the silly Americans.

I have a hunch that Alex maybe right in the middle of writing an article about this. I look forward to seeing the title he'll cook up.
If only there was a Ghost busters type scanning device for measuring snarkyness, that article would break it.
Taking bets if "this is now a thing" or "that happened" is in the title.
Jesus christ, just when you thought it couldn't get any worse.
Glad I jumped ship on the so called FGC a loooong time ago.
