A while back, a bunch of DLC for Borderlands went on sale on Xbox Marketplace. I was still playing Borderlands pretty much whenever I had a chance. I knew that Mad Moxxis' Underdome Riot wasn't supposed to be all that great, but I got it anyway. Initially killing all the enemies without getting XP didn't bug me. After wave after wave however, it started to bug the holy hell outta me. That plus the weapons storage aspect of it was totally useless to me. My fault for buying it, but oh well. At least it was on sale.

So any of you people ever bought DLC only to not like it or despise it?

The second DLC for Mass Effect 1 was pretty bad. On the other hand, it let me keep my S-Rank for the game, SO I REGRET NOTHING!

All the Mafia 2 DLC </3 I didn't buy all of it, just two of the costume/car packs and Joe's Adventures.. the costumes looked awful on Vito, and Joe's Adventures was just microwaved shite.

Those Onechanbara costumes just because I couldn't find any else to bring my points balance to zero. I mean, what? <_<

Fallout 3's Broken Steel DLC, because the game would always freeze when I reached a certain point in the main mission, so I only got to play about a third of Broken Steel.

@MooseyMcMan: Thanks for the heads up. Currently playing Mass Effect 1 which came with Bring Down the Sky on the disc and was wondering about the second DLC for it.

 My first purchased DLC.

Witch Hunt for DA:O.  And of course, the infamous... Horse Armor for Oblivion.

The last Killzone 2 map pack. Nobody was ever playing them. Probably gonna sit at 99% trophies forever now :(

The only time I buy DLC is so I can get an S-rank in that game, I actually spent 12 hours driving 1,000 miles in Jimmy's Vendetta because it would have been the only one I didn't get. So, for starters JIMMY'S VENDETTA because of its lack of story and lazy mission structure. MAD MOXXI for previously mentioned reasons. And, the BIOSHOCK 2 MAP PACK because of the lack of a lobby. At least I bought them all half off =).

Return to Ostagar for Dragon Age: Origins. It seemed like such an awesome premise, but it ended up being pretty lame.

#12 Posted by AlexW00d (6196 posts) -

The Assassin's Creed 2 DLC tbh.

Another good one (or bad one, rather?), along with Golems of Amgarrak.. fucking ew.

I spent a ton on LBP Costumes, but didn't really play the game enough to justify how much I was spending. Regardless, I'm glad I supported Media Molecule.

I bought the New Vegas DLC and it's fucking terrible!!!  I guess I got the five extra levels.

#16 Posted by TheGreatGuero (9130 posts) -

All the DLC I've ever bought that I've never played. Maybe one of these days...

#17 Posted by TheUnsavedHero (1255 posts) -

Another one that just came to me was buying all the costumes for Super Street Fighter IV even though I use roughly 2 characters. WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?!

#18 Posted by SMTDante89 (2550 posts) -

There are a few Rock Band songs I kind of wish I hadn't bought.  I bought that tome book or something for Oblivion.

I know there are others, but right now I'm drawing a blank on the other items.

Exactly what I was gonna say. Hated it, but it got me my S rank.

fable 2 one. i don't buy a lot of DLC. i forgot which one it was called but it was the one where you had to buy the globs to use the DLC. it was short. the one one i thought was long enough.

MushihimesamaFutari Black Label... thought it was the game, not an add on XD

Fallout 3. All of it... wait.

Any DLC I got for Battlefield Bad Company 2. Didn't play it that much afterwards.

I don't know whether I'd rather live with an uneven amount of MSP or have my purchase history tainted with that forever.

I'd have to go with the map pack for CoD4. I don't get DLC often and that was 800 points. I only kind of liked about half of the maps, and it made me realize that I never wanted to buy map packs ever again.

First, I was like ">_<", then I was like "<_>".

I noticed I forgot to put in my worst DLC. Because of my own stupidity, all of the Forza 2 DLC, because I wasn't anticipating owning the PH version less than 2 months after XBL had a sale. Because of honesty, it's gotta be the Halo 3 map packs. They all sucked, and I didn't like the game; it was a prime example of conformism which I strongly oppose.

Mad Moxxi for Borderlands. I still plan on getting all the achievements for that someday.

Mad Moxxi because I can't beat it by myself, and I haven't ever been able to get through more than like one tourney. I actually do like the storage, though, because it's allowed me to keep all of the good guns I've found for playthroughs with new characters. Also General Knoxx (atm) because part of the reason I haven't been able to get shit done in the Underdome is because I installed Knoxx before beating everything else, but didn't start it, so my character is level 54, but my guns are ~level 45.

I also regret the costume packs I purchased for The Force Unleashed, because I bought a bunch of other Star Wars characters only to realize they were just reskins with no actual mods, and that I liked Starkiller's costumes better than an Obi-Wan skin. So I don't regret any packs with Starkiller costumes, just the ones without. I kind of regret buying them instead of just buying the Ultimate Sith Edition, though (how was I supposed to know it was coming out?).

I love that I was stupid enough to buy horse armor.

I remember buying the Killzone 2 map packs, only to discover that nobody played on them.

#34 Posted by ckeats (489 posts) -

I bought an alterante costume pack for Mass Effect 2 by accident. I wasn't really paying attention cause a bunch of free stuff came up too so I was just tapping A, A, down, A, A, down and before I knew it BAM costumes I never used.
Other than that though I cant not recall buying much DLC for games.

Let's just go the whole way and say all the DLC for Dragon Age sans Shale. However, I bought Darkspawn Chronicles, which trumps both of your examples handily. Witch hunt is art compared to that horrible slog.

This is easy. The Mafia 2 ones. Thought it would actually open up the world with side quests gta4 style, but it made things worse.

#37 Posted by MrMatey72 (85 posts) -

Probably the Soul Calibur IV Halloween costume pack.  I barely used it, and I don't even own the game anymore.

Man was horse armor in that game dumb! It wasn't even like you could use a horse in combat or anything. The person who came up with that one should be ashamed. As for a DLC I regretted buying, the Bioshock 2 multiplayer map pack simply because I had the game on PC and 2K messed up the play lists, causing you to be unable to get into a game on the new maps. They failed on that PC version on pretty much every level possible...

Almost everything that wasn't GTA4 expansions.  Everything out there is wildly overpriced.

I bought a Battlefield Bad Company 2 theme by accident because of their screwed up in-game purchasing menu. (was trying to redeem a Dr. Pepper code)

#42 Posted by ThePhantomnaut (6187 posts) -

Bad Company 2 Vietnam.

#43 Posted by Haethos (307 posts) -

I bought the Ultimate Edition, so I didn't buy it individually: but my god, the Witch Hunt DLC for Dragon Age was underwhelming and a cheap cash-in by Bioware.

I bought this last week, and I'm super disappointed by it. Seems like every map is a meat grinder and the "tactical" nature of Battlefield gets tossed out the window.
#45 Posted by FancySoapsMan (5808 posts) -

Probably all the DLC I've ever bought.

#46 Posted by chrissedoff (2075 posts) -

i regret buying the golems of amgarrak for dragon age, especially since my imported character's gear was glitched so it had no texture. but mostly because your allies suck and die all the time, it was short as hell, had crappy loot, and added almost nothing to the story.

#47 Posted by PenguinDust (12455 posts) -

Map packs for Call of Duty 3.  I doubt there was anything wrong with them, I just didn't play the game.

Also the "Wizard's Tower" for my 360 version of Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion.  I think I went there once.  I still play the game a lot but on the PC, my GOTY edition has all the junk included.

#48 Posted by KaosAngel (13765 posts) -

My wife bought horse armor.

Mothership Zeta and Operation Anchorage. I rarely ever buy DLC, but I bought all five Fallout 3 DLC items, and loved them all except those two. So boring.
