(if the forum is still busted this is about Earthworm Jim 4

Source: http://www.34thdimension.com/blog/calgary-entertainment-expo-2010/

I asked Mr. TenNapel about the reported EWJ revival going on in conjunction with the new Interplay, which originally included plans for a new game, television series and animated film. Now, according to him, the only thing still in production is Earthworm Jim 4. Interplay wanted to push it as a quick-and-shitty release to make a quick buck; but Mr. TenNapel is a pretty cool guy, and he told them that if the project was going to go through, it would have to be done right (then I imagine he ripped off his shirt and shoved their faces into his hairy chest). So the current plan is to release EWJ4 for the Wii sometime in the distant future.  I did not even know that this was a Earthworm Jim game in the works.

Kind of odd that he is only talking about it being on the Wii for now, but i suppose that that could mean that it will not be a 2D game.

Weird. I mean, the original Earthworm Jim game is one of my all-time favorites, but I'm not so sure if i'd play another one. Ah, who am I kidding, I'll probably play another game with that title.
Depends on what they want to do with it. I'm not really sure I'd like to see a 3D game, but a Bionic Commando Re-Armed styled 2.5D game would be cool, as would a Mega Man 9 style retro throwback.

I'd love to see a hand drawn 2D game like Muramasa.

Woah, looking at those screens reminded me of Blasto for some reason.

One man's fail is another man's win... ... Well, I tried to like it :\

Wii? Well, that could mean anything tbh, no use speculating now. I don't see how it means it won't be 2D though, there are tons of games like Muramasa, Boy and His Blob and Wario Land that are amazing 2D games on the Wii.

PoP 3D sucked as well, but the games that came after that rocked. It's all up to the developer. Though it's not exactly safe to have faith in Interplay these days.

Earthworm Jim revival is a 2D game using 3D graphics and full on 3D for the SNES mode 7 race levels.
