How popular/known/ubiquitous is Giant Bomb outside of this site proper? I know the big 3 are IGN, Gamespot, and Kotaku. Is this site discussed among those forums or anything? I just want to know how people who haven't been following these people forever view this site...quirky? Just a site with weird video content? A totally weird community?
Talk to me! I need to know this!!
Not really, but I'm just curious about the innermost workings of the female psyche...
*edit*
Alright, yea, I know there are other gaming websites out there...Gametrailers, Destructoid, 1up, and Joystiq being a few of the big names I've left out.
- Gametrailers - it's got some pretty sick video content if you're looking for perspectives from other game press, but their host can get a bit annoying . . . I really love their retrospecitves though. History Channel quality. Try to make it a point to check your favorite series out if you've got some time.
- Destructoid - I know there's been some love from the staff on Destructoid, but I could never really keep on going back to the site...Maybe just a little bit too much personality?
- 1up - Don't really know much about this place. They've got the occasional nifty feature, and I hear their podcasts are poppin, and they've got a decent community - can't say too much besides that.
- Joystiq - My personal gaming blog of choice. Yea, their news may not be up to the minute fresh, but they actually put some thought and effort behind their posts. Madprops Joystiq.
- Gamespot, IGN - I don't really visit these sites at all. They're just too corporate for me, covering every single game, 6 page reviews, stiff articles, etc. Although its fun to watch some vid reviews from the old crew at GS.
- Kotaku - These guys...Yes, they'll put out 4 articles an hour, and one of those will be a rumor, or not really pertaining to games really. They're cool to visit if you know how to filter your news properly.
