So for the first time ever, my gf tried a game yesterday.
We played splosion man for 10 min. THe thing is that her attention span or whats it called is very small. If she is not having fun, she get bored easily. Only games we have played together before is buzz, pref hollywood quiz. Ye shes that kind of girl. Anyways, i want to know if anyone can recommend some fun local COOP games. And no, she is not 12, so dont say viva pinata.
Fun coop games with a girl (who has no interessted in games)
...are you 12? Let me guess, your opinion of Viva Pinata came from looking at a screenshot?
"And no, she is not 12, so dont say viva pinata. "I don't think Brad's 12, yet he adores Viva Pinata as far as I know.
Personally though, I dislike it. Doesn't mean I call people the equivalent of "childish" for liking the game.
" Ooh, seems i hit a nerve. Sorry to VP lovers "your girlfriend just doesnt like video games. get over it kid.
" Ooh, seems i hit a nerve. Sorry to VP lovers "
Why do you have to a prick about it though?
Yeah sorry, I don't help anyone who talks mess about VP." Ooh, seems i hit a nerve. Sorry to VP lovers "
Yes, it seems you are misinformed about Viva Pinata. Check out Brad's video review for Trouble In Paradise.
Brad is not twelve.
Let me put it to you straight dude:
Your 13 y/o girlfriend dislikes games and has ADD.
Couple options:
1) Get VP and give it a try. If it fails you just lost some cash.
2) Let her go, you'll find an actual gamer-girl someday (*cough*probablynot*cough*)
3) Smuggle some Ritalin into her meal and then she'll sit down and play whatever you put in front of her. More-so if you give her a power-dose.
Which systems do you own? I can really recommend Little Big Planet, Sega Mega Drive Collection (full of fun coop games) and Lego Star Wars (or any Lego Game, really) to play with your GF.
Also, I don't understand how you say that she doesn't like games, but then disregard a perfect entry point for non-gamers like Viva Pignata. If anything, the older people get, the more they love these kind of games. We all were 12 once, and we all turn 13 and see the errors in our views. Once I got past the "every game I play must feature severed limbs" and got to the "I can't believe I missed all these great games" phase, I found that I quite liked these 'kiddy' games.
Not that I don't like severed limbs, Soldier of Fortune will always have a place in my heart, as will Dead Space (2).
If you own a Wii, you have plenty of choices, since the system was made for people who hate gaming ^_^ jk.
" @Henrikhoe:Have u seen brad play? He has the brain of the 12yr old.

"oH what happens if i shoot this exploding barrel while standing next to it" Thats brad

2. Gamer girls were glasses and are fugly. There be 1 expections out of 10 000 girls.
3. Thank you. Most viable solution given yet
I'm a girl who plays video games with her fiance. We're both into things like Halo, etc, but from her point of view, games like LittleBigPlanet may be a good choice - as people have said.
If you have a Wii, perhaps some of the Mario games?
However, she probably just doesn't like games... can't really force it.
However:

You need a gateway game like Bejeweled, Peggle, or Plants vs. Zombies, but those are all single player. The reason they work well is because it doesn't feel like it's taking up a lot of time. Each round is short, making it easy to move onto the next round. Eventually you've played 50 rounds that are 3 minutes long.
Rock Band might be a good place to start. I'm sure there are some songs she likes in the game. If she doesn't like one instrument she can switch to another, and each round is short, so if she sucks at a certain song it won't be unfun for very long.
If all you've played with her is casual games like Buzz, then why not try a more hardcore game? Maybe she doesn't like casual games. I know a bunch of girls that love unreal tournament 99 and 2004. If you have 2 computers you can easily play in the same server. Last time I checked close to half the UT99 players were female. It's pretty easy to pay attention to because the next kill is always a few seconds away.
I believe the Pixel Junk games have good co-op, but Eden is the only PJ game I have and those rounds can last over an hour.
I've played through Little Big Planet and Heavy Rain with my girlfriend and she's loved both. We're currently playing some RDR and Dead Space and i'd say RDR is better for playing together. You just gotta find something that's fun to look at and really get into i think.
ps Viva pinata is bad. I've tried playing it, and i've watched my little brothers play a bunch and it is really really boring
I would suggest super mario bros Wii or LittleBigPlanet depending on if you have one of those consoles.
As someone said before, you should give the Mega Drive/Genesis collection a try. I play a lot of brawler-type stuff with my girlfriend, so far we've torn through Streets of Rage 1 - 3, Alien Storm, Final Fight, Fighting Force and Castle Crashers together, although to be fair, my girlfriend does also play videogames on her own and co-op beat em up's have a lot of nostalgic value for both of us.
Also I love Viva Pinata, and i dont consider it an entry-level game. Getting those fucking swans to visit my garden in the first game was more frustrating than beating Demon's Souls.
Fun coop games with a girl, who has no interest in games?
Hmm... I'm gonna go ahead and say that's a tough one.
The Lego games, Also Rocket Riot on XBLA is very simple and a lot of fun that requires very little skill.
" as i said on number 2, there may be 1 of 10 000. "That's funny because I know several very attractive gamer girls (including my gf). There are PLENTY of very attractive gamer girls out there and they're really not that hard to find, just most of them prefer to stay from most gamer guys.
It's just seems that your girlfriend doesn't really like video games. Don't try too hard, guys that do that end up being more annoying than a door to door salesman. Don't offer her the controller, wait for her to ask for it. If she doesn't want it bad enough to ask her boyfriend, then she just doesn't want it. Give it a try, play something you think she might find interesting. You can go for the "easy to play" and "instant gratification" sort. The Lego games seem good enough for that. When she comes over, continue to play it for 3 to 5 minutes, say you only need a couple of minutes to find a save point or something and ask her to sit down next to you and talk. Do it twice or three times, and if she shows no interest then it's not going to happen. Also if you already tried too hard and salted the land, the subtle approach is little likely to work. Make your peace with that.
Why don't you take her to a games store with you and just see if anything takes her fancy? A fighter game can always be pretty fun too, it gets them involved competitively but it doesn't mean they are suddenly going to become a hardcore gamer. It's worth trying her out with gaming as a hobby, just don't push it, you know, have her waking up with a 360 controller glued to her hands or anything.
"..., just don't push it, you know, have her waking up with a 360 controller glued to her hands or anything. "Oh god, I just visualized a Saw version of that. "Hello, sweetie. I want to play a game..."
" No she's 13. So i guess you all recommend VP then "How about you try Playing VP first.... and actually form an opinion about it.
If there is one thing that college has taught me it's "if you can't completely back up your opinion about something, then simply shut the fuck up"
Your stance on this all doesn't really make me want to help you tbh.
In this case I'm inclined to tell you to just do the research on your own
