Game awards upsets

Do you feel like there were any upsets with the results of the game awards, or perhaps winners whose name recognition far outweighed their quality. For example Pokemon Go, while seemingly a pretty neat geocaching skin, doesn't seem to be much of a game, never mind the best mobile game of the year. Also after everything it seems like a pretty false note to give Street Fighter V a game of the year award. Agree? Disagree? Thoughts?

Yeah, Pokemon Go was a neat cultural touchstone but as a game it was an actual broken mess until like a couple months ago, when it became an unremarkable geocache thing. I think others, particularly FE: Fates (even if the localization was FAR worse than Awakening), deserved the win.

Also, I like Boogie but O'Dwyer is clearly the superior human.

Street Fighter V was by far the best fighting game of the year. Why wouldn't it get the award?
