So I've brought 9 games in less than twelve hours from the Steam Summer Sale. It would seem that gaming has become quite a costly addiction in recent months for me. Does anyone else have similar experiences where they can't help themselves with purchasing games they are unlikely going to play, or just buying games purely because they are on sale?

I think it's a waste, I read a lot about people doing steam impulse purchases.

I only buy what I'm gonna play, there's more things then games to spend money on (like game merchandise XD).

Back when the PC industry was fighting fit, I would be buying a full price PC game about once every 1.5 weeks.  I probably buy more games now, but spend less money and less time playing them - and I don't really worry about it if I only play them for an hour (or even not at all), because they cost next to nothing anyway.  The super cheap games that I do end up liking more than make up for the super cheap games that I end up not playing.

When you compare these games to retail pc games. For example assassin's creed 2 is like $60, it's only like $26.79 on steam, that's a bargain. Then you have these games that are only a few dollars. Then you see alot more games on sale that you were planning on buying and it's dirt cheap on steam. It's tough to resist a good bargain, like others say, if we don't buy these, we are wasting money by not buying it then buying it at a higher price later, or you'll be missing out.

Gamefly has significantly cut back on what I have spent on gaming in the last two years.
