There's one small question i'd like to ask the community of Giant bomb. Its about the games on demand systen that is coming with the new Xbox 360 dashboard update. Up until now the system has thrown away the MS points in favour of real life money to purchase the full Xbox 360 games.

However, in a recent video shown on the inside xbox part of the 360 dashboard. It very clearly shows someone buying mass effect on the GOD system with 1600ms points. My question for you is what currency is being used for this system? Ms points or real life money? Please bare in mind that I live in the UK and this video may not have appeared on the US inside xbox.

I am using the preview program right now, but they haven't rolled out 360 games on GoD. Right now they only have XBOX games-- only the channel has been renamed.

I was listening to a podcast that said, it looked like you could use either.

The video i saw, i remember they showed some guy buying lego star wars for 19 dollars or something like that, no MS points where listed. What im curious to know is, if they stick with whatever real currency is used in the different countries, will the rest of market place get real prices instead of points too,

I believe you can use either Microsoft Points or real money. That way people who are crazy (like me) can rest assured that they have something to spend their Points on after they bought them in bulk (about $100 last purchase).

I doubt they'll phase out such a system as MS points, but I think it makes sense for Games on Demand to be "Real life" currency...  But 1600 for Mass Effect? I could pick it up for £5 "
Thats the thing phasing out the old system would be a lot of work on their part, as every country has different currency system and VAT is different from country to country also. But it would be really nice to get rid of those MS points.

And i agree, the price point on some of these games are pretty high, as you wrote who would buy Mass Effect for 1600 if they can buy a physical disc for so much less.
