I have a confession. i suck at Rock Band. like really bad. its pathetic. ive been playing it for a few years now and i cant make it off the easy difficulty. dont get me wrong. i enjoy playing it.it's sooo much fun. i just suck terribly at it.hell, somtimes i even have a hard time on easy! yet i can kick ass at any mega man game. im a pro at call of duty,i Never give up at dark souls. yet,for some stupid reason. i suck at playing rock band. so fellow bombers, what games do you suck at yet still love to play?
Games You suck at but still love to play.
Gran Turismo 5. I have never won a race online but damn it all to hell if that game isn't some good old fashion car lovin' fun!
Counterstrike was like that for me when I was a youth. Now I'm pretty good at Arms Race despite not playing CS in like a decade, and I kind of miss being terrible at it, but it still gives me the jitters because its so intense. Love it.
I dunno any game I really suck at though... Probably ArmA 2? But then half of that is because I'm playing at about 15FPS.
Soul Calibur 5.
I fucking suck at the game and would NEVER attempt to play anyone online or off. But I come back for the customization.
@Deadmanforking: i feel ya on this. im far from terrible yet im a button masher at heart. i still have butt loads of fun though.
Any Street Fighter/DoA or Starcraft. They just require me to be faster than I am. But I'm in love with the meta game, enjoy watching streams or tournaments and I think They are all fun to play on a casual level.
I would say Mortal Kombat, but I'm actually halfway decent playing that. And the pro level play is less interesting. So meh.
Generally every first and third person shooter. I usually enjoy playing them, but I can never play online.
Dark Souls: it is not just set out to penalise you for playing badly but I also constantly play badly - I have figured out a system to counter-act my inane shitty-ness at it but it still takes me hours and hours to progress (currently clocked around 300 hours and still haven't finished my first playthrough).
New Super Mario Bros. Wii - I am so horribly abysmal at this (it is the only game where a live system has constantly caused me to get proper game overs that make me have to start almost entire Worlds again - Damn that game. I have finished it but there is no way I will ever get all the Big Coins and play all the World 9 levels)
@Dixavd: Wait, what the hell are you doing to progress in Dark Souls? If that number is correct, you've taken more time for one playthrough then I have for.... 1,2,3,4,5,6? Duuuuuuude.
Agreed on Mario though. I don't know what the fuck is up with Mario games. I find Super Meat Boy way easier than anything Mario ever. I'm like, Mario handicapped.

Well purely on how I play games I can probably inflate a game's average length by a factor of 3 times (especially RPGs) as I love to walk around and listen to what everyone says and mess check every inch of the world out simply getting myself lost in the world. But with Dark Souls, I have the problem in that it is just one of those games whose gameplay simply doesn't click with me - meaning I have to spend quite a lot of time grinding as I haven't seemed to grasp dodging and/or parrying well enough to play the game like a normal player. But then, with the Souls that I grind, I don't like the idea of specialising in games (I don't focus on PvP at all - in fact I try to avoid it at all costs) so my points spread is all over the place. That said however, I am pretty efficient at getting fantastic armour and weaponry that fits the way I play (and is how I have sort of overcome a lot of my bad game-play by simply having a fighting-style which sort of goes from it) I also horrible with in-world physics - especially traps whom kill me constantly (I end up having to leave a lot of treasure behind because I simply am horrendous and landing jumps etc... to get them; usually only traversing back later if I end up looking it up and it is an item I truly care about).
Funny though, I find that the bosses whom many people say are difficult end up being the ones which go pretty well for me, such as the Smough and Ornstein whom I pretty easily killed Smough first and then Ornstein (and it only took me about 3 times to solo, which for me with this game is incredibly good comparatively).
Just generally though, I am bad at the game. But it makes it even more rewarding for me when I do progress as it isn't simply a case of "yeah, I am progressing in a game meant to be harder than most to do", it is a case of "I am getting further despite how mind bogglingly bad I am at this game". If the world wasn't so varied and interesting for me with very cool dynamics of NPC-to-Player interaction and really interesting mechanics decisions, then I would have given up after 70 hours like I did with Skyrim. While I don't think I will finish it even though I am so close to the end (currently have the Seath to go and then the final area of the game to go) due to how little time I have now to continue to remember and keep on top of the mechanics so I am at least at the very low level of being able to progress even a tiny bit; but I have enjoyed my time with it and I will enjoy the little that I get to play from now on.
I love music rhythm games, but I'm rarely anything more than ok at them. I have never progressed past medium on a lot of the instruments in Rock Band. I recently played a bit of Uncharted 3 online and was awful, but It was still a bunch of fun.
Mortal Kombat (2011), I love the hell out of that game, but I can never win a game online nor can I perform proper combos.
Mortal Kombat '11. It's my strongest fighter, but that's saying very little.
I also suck at the management elements of The Sims, but I consider myself pretty good at building houses, which is all I do.
Battlefield games. I die all the fucking time. ALL the time. But it's kind of cool because I just feel like I'm some brainless grunt in a huge war, and my death is insignificant. Also knowing that whoever killed me probably feels like some warzone badass makes it all seem ok
Awesomenauts: I'm way too reckless and just charge to my death.
Naruto Storm Generations: Played 10 online matches, lost 10 online matches.
I'm pretty much the same with Rock Band. I've dabbled on Hard with varying degrees of success.
But ultimately can't get that extra fret down. Still love the game though.
And I guess most multiplayer shooters count.
I ain't great at Call of Duty but I still like playing it.
I totally suck at Quake, but it's still awesome.
I dunno. I probably suck at most games frankly.
COD, im sooo bad at that game.
Edit: also fighting games, except all the Smash Bros, i can manage in those, especially when i play with friends. (Marth ftw!!)
Mortal Kombat. I think it's just the people you play online are just way too good. I play the old SNES and Genesis versions all the time, but never have problems.
Halo, Gears of War, Street Fighter. I get hype on games, but by the time I go play something else and come back, I just get crushed.
RTS. I just love building a wicked cool base and accruing a ton of dudes, but that's rarely the way to win.
Civilization games. I can count on one hand the number of times I've actually won a game (not counting "highest score when time runs out" as a proper win state), but damn if that series isn't fucking amazing all the same.
At the moment: PlanetSide 2. I totally suck at actually aiming at people, and shooting them and killing them, but I just love camping on a ledge near an enemy base and identifying hostile troops to help my team.
Pretty much any fighting game. I love watching people who know how to play but I'm terrible at them.
I don't really play unreal tournament much, but I sure do suck more than I thought...awesome game though!
