For all GB's minor and less minor faults, it's content (both free and members) like what we had over the course of this week that keeps me subscribed every year.
Both interesting insights into and talks about the "industry" and at the same time incredibly dumb shenanigans.
i really liked hearing carrie and stephanie talk, very awesome people that i would actually listen to speak about women in the industry and that whole sexism business, they are very down to earth and very likeable unlike anita imo
and if that sexism movement wants to make any traction, then you need more people like carrie and stephanie to speak, cause i think youill get more people to listen if you have people like those 2 talk about it.
and yea that third segment got real raw with ryan and the whole cake thing.

Agreed. That was a great stream. Finding the balance between dumb fun and interesting discussions is hard to accomplish and the guys and guests nailed it.
I'm surprised and impressed to hear you say that, considering that in addition to her saying she grew a thick skin, she also more or less said "but this is only my experience and I'm not going to pretend that it's the same for every woman, I'm not going to say that the way I deal with stupid sexist stuff I do encounter is more valid than the way anyone else does."
But let's not turn this into another sexism flame war already, I really just want to talk about the cake story. Jeff has some fucking wild stories, but god dammit if this isn't the craziest fucking thing I've heard out of Giant Bomb. And it just fucking kept going! All of the gory details about how nice the cake was! How his fiancee set it up in the bedroom! And then she left the room to let him do it! I honestly don't know where this can possibly be escalated to next. I think someone would have to send them an actual shit pie to top this week of horror-musement. And then they'd have to flush that down the toilet or something. Fuck. I am both sickened and SO CURIOUS knowing that there is a picture of the aftermath of the sat-on cake. A livestream for the ages.

Extremely entertaining, kudos to Giant Bomb for being this entertaining, regardless of the fact that video games are not their primary occupation anymore :P

Yeah, Carrie should be speaking more, not a huge fan of Stephanie, but she was OK.

Carrie has always been awesome to listen to since the old gamespot days, i was just glad to see that stephanie is another down to earth lady like carrie and not a self-righteousblowhard like leigh alexander (obviously im basing this off the couple of e3 podcasts that she ruined,)
and im glad they voiced their opinions in front of patrick who generalizes and says misogyny and sexism is ENGRAINED into gaming, when there are actually ladies that do have prominent roles in companies and do have positive experiences in the business.
