The London Philharmonic Orchestra's second video game album released today and Amazon has it as the deal of the day for their MP3 store for only $3.99, which is a really good price. If you purchase it, what do you think about it, or the first album for that matter?

And here's the tracks that are included:

  • Assassin's Creed: Revelations - Main Theme
  • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Far Horizons
  • The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker - Dragon Roost Island
  • Final Fantasy VII - One-Winged Angel
  • Mass Effect 3 - A Future for the Krogan/An End Once And For All
  • Halo - Never Forget/Peril
  • Sonic the Hedgehog - A Symphonic Suite
  • Chrono Trigger - Main Theme
  • Luigi's Mansion - Main Theme
  • Kingdom Hearts - Fate of the Unknown
  • Super Metroid - A Symphonic Poem
  • Diablo III – Overture
  • Batman: Arkham City - Main Theme
  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Icarus Main Theme
  • Fez – Adventure
  • Portal - Still Alive
  • LittleBigPlanet - Orb Of Dreamers (The Cosmic Imagisphere)

    No Bastion? What?

So apparently the deal has been extended to November 12 so if you missed out on this yesterday, it's still set at a really good price for a few more days.

    No Katawa Shoujo? What?

By the way, those first three tracks alone make it worth it. Then there's Deus Ex.

Let me just drop this here

Way more music and a much better selection too. You will hear amazing game themes you've never heard before on there!

    @SMTDante89:

The Arkham City Theme was amazing, and one of my favorite pieces of music that came out last year.

Am I a dick for just listening to the handful I wanted to hear on Youtube? I don't know why anyone would ever try to do another version of One Winged Angel after the ridiculous (awesome) version from Advent Children. I liked the Sonic and Metroid ones a lot though.

Yes, Amazon. I think I will.

No Golgo 13? What the fuck.

That ain't no Chrono Cross soundtrack, failure

No Dragon Quest 8 Map Theme? What?

It's absolutely fantastic is what I think of it. Dragon Roost Island is a great piece of music normally, and that's a great rendition of it. That version of One-Winged Angel is awesome, the Sonic the Hedgehod Suite is great, the Deus Ex: Human Revolution Theme is great, the Luigi's Mansion theme is great, the Chrono Trigger theme is great...

I'm still not sure about a fully orchestrated version of Still Alive, but it's pretty good I guess.

Awesome soundtrack, well worth the four dollars, and then some.

    No Hotline Miami? What?

Edit: I just imagined an orchestra playing hydrogen, what a funny image.

Thanks for letting us know. I loved the first one, and I hadn't heard anything about this till now.

I loved the first album so im looking forward to listening to this. The Mass Effect 2 suicide mission was brilliant on the first one.

Looks like it's only available in the US :/ Would definitely have purchased it otherwise.

Exactly. Hotline Miami's music is just a bunch of repetitive computer noise.

Anyone else think these are becoming increasing unnecessary and only cater to specific franchises?

    edit: where are these?

I can't get the deus ex and batman themes out of my head.

They got some Luigi's Mansion in there? Maybe they do know what they're talking about...

Why didn't they do the Ocean theme from Wind Waker?

Dragoon Roost is awesome too though.

Dragon Roost Island being on there is fantastic. Wish I could buy this.

An extended overworld theme would have been the best track to hear from Wind Waker, but I'll take it.

No base music from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn? What?

Anyways it's pretty damn good, and I'm fairly happy with their selection unlike last time, but most of the songs aren't any better than they were originally.

    Huh. AC: Revelations. Huh.

    #31 Posted by NegativeCero (2976 posts) -

Just bought it, and then proceeded to get other videogames soundtracks. The Nier and Xenoblade soundtracks are really good, which naturally led me to buy Nier (don't have a Wii). This is a dangerous use of money.

Diablo 3? Diablo 2 blew it out of the water, especially the OST.

Bummer that Journey isn't on there.
