Actually, three Advance games.  My LGS is having a buy two get one free sale on old GBA games.  I still proudly wield my DS Lite and I am looking to catch up on some older games that I missed (living in a third-world country can do that).  I have four possibilities, but I am not sure which one to put aside.  Please help.

Here are the four:

Final Fantasy V Advance
Final Fantasy VI Advance
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
Gunstar Super Heroes

I have never played any of these games before, or in any previous inception.  Thanks for the assistance.

FFVI Advance if you have never played it before is a must have.

Gunstar Super Heroes.  Totally worth your time.  Although very difficult.

Final Fantasy 5 and 6 can be found on any other systems.  I would suggest getting Final Fantasy Anthology.

Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo is basically a Tetris remix.

Edit: Since you are buying three games, get Gunstar Super Heroes and both the Final Fantasy games.

The GBA version is has some new features and refinements over the anthology version, at least FF6 not to sure about 5. There is some more detail about it in the games their wiki pages.

Agree completely. VI is my favorite FF, advance steps it up a notch over the SNES release.

Since he is picking up three games, I suggested he get those along with Gunstar Super Heroes.

Get Final Fantasy 6 for sure, and 5 too if you havent played it. Gunstar is awesome

Final Fantasy VI
Gunstar Super Heroes
Final Fantasy V
Super Puzzle Fighter

If I may, i recommend getting a fire emblem, and if they have Golden Sun or Golden Sun the Lost Age, pick them up immediately.
All of the castlevania games on the GBA are some of the series best
Yggdra Union and Riviera are good.
Tales of Phantasia, Zone of the Enders: The fist of mars, and both boktai games are worth owning

Final Fantasy VI is a definite, and V wouldn't be a bad choice. Get the rarest of the other two and sell them online so you can get like, Yoshi's Island, Golden Sun, Advance Wars, Zelda, Kirby or Fire Emblem.

I have 3 of the 4 and loved them all, so just bypass Super Puzzle Fighter which is what most seem to agree on.

Have fun :-)

Thanks for all of the advice.  Unfortunately, these four are the only real options.  All the rest of the selection is Disney and Nickelodeon junk.

If I had to choose between the two Final Fantasy games, which one would you suggest?  I don't know if it matters, but I am currently playing through FF IV DS.

Also, how much difference is there between SPF2T and Tetris?  My wife is a puzzle-junky.

Most definately VI. V is great, but VI is a pinnacle in RPG goodness, considered one of the best games ever made.
