How do you deal with video gaming jerks?

I'm asking this since I ran into an idiot in a CS:S server while playing with friends. He started off saying that everyone sucked. Then he pelted us with insults(mainly just "NOOB"). He then threw his server rank of top 20 at us, even though it doesn't take into account playing time. He wouldn't stop making mom insults, and insisted on personally attacking us. He incorrectly claimed I had made multiple usage mistakes, and tried to hard to be good at English because I was Taiwanese(I've lived in Texas for 11 years). After 30 minutes I was ridiculously angry over this. So how do you guys deal with constant jerks like him?

I just laugh it off. 
It takes a lot to get me downright angry and some random internet freak is definitely not one of those things. 
Last time I checked, people used "Mute" as an option and if the guy is being an ass in a chat, that's even easier to ignore since that's not where the stuff is going down. 

Just mute him,I usually just try to keep it going. It's very entertaining to me to hear people rage online. Typing "2ez" and whatnot certainly helps the rage keep flowing :D

Scream louder, cuss harder.

I haven't played anything online for several years, but when I did, I was the jerk. 

Fun thing, the guys who curse the most and go crazy about this kinda stuff suck the most at the game!

Play exaggeratedly understanding. If he's loud, tell him you know perfectly well how it feels to be ignored by ones parents. If he's being offensive, tell him that blaming society won't help when he has serious issues. Pretend to observe him from a psychological, and most importantly - over-the-top pedagogical angle. If he stops with his screaming and whatnot, keep at it, continue making assumptions and guess at "where his problem is" even while he's silent.
 
It freaks the leetkids out. It makes them weep, and they usually leave the server with a grumpy "Freak" or after calling you a psycho.

Muting is a great way of just letting yourself know you're better than them.

I ignore them. 
 
Or I find their home address and then murder their loved ones in front of them while they cry and beg to be killed so the torture will stop. It depends on my mood.

Mute or just ignore them. Or kick, if that's an option.

 I just ignore them, but it is my firm belief that no server is complete without a jerk. I would never mute them because a lot of the time I like to listen to them rant.

Mute and ignore. These types of things tend to cries for attention, giving them the attention they crave only makes things worse.

You should've just spoken in your native language.  They'll get annoyed, then leave.

That or you could just not reply works fine everytime

I never listen to voice chat anymore. I do most of my gaming with earbuds, unless it's like MW2 where I'm all tryhard mode. Even then I'll mute everybody. I hate people.
