Pretty sure most people can read that. Like it says the Human mind reads the whole word not the letters, therefore any human can read it.

The worst part is that I saw this on my Facebook. And considering the fact I saw it on Facebook, odds are that it is probably fake. I would say much, much more than 55/100 people can read that. If you're fluent enough in English you should have no problem reading that. It's cool and all, but at the same time: you have to wonder what scientists at Cambridge University are doing.

Didn't we have this same topic many months (possibly years) ago? I remember something similar for whatever reason. Regardless it still bothers me how easy it is to read all that, brains are weird.

Actually, it only works if you overload the text with very short words.  The short words are immediately obvious (1,2 and 3 letter words remain the same & 4 letter words only have 2 possible options) and then your mind can pre-empt what most of the few long words are going to be.   If you use mainly longer words, it becomes much, much harder.  So it isn't that the order of the middle letters doesn't matter - it's just that words with 5 or less letters are a piece of piss to rearrange on the fly anyway.

Spelling is still important regardless of this kind of stuff. Just because I can read it doesn't mean I want to read it. Any prospective employer or admissions committee does not give a crap that they can still understand you thanks to the wonders of the human brain, you still end up looking kind of dumb.

Wow. I read about this in an e-mail like eight or so years ago. This is nothing new, yet someone seems to discover it once every six months or so.
