Guild Wars.
You can get to the level cap in no time at all. It's on Steam, and it's really fun. Plus, there's a ton of stuff to do.
It doesn't have the open world that most MMO's have, but it's got excellent PvP, and you get to pick a primary and secondary profession (classes) so you can customize your playstyle quite a lot. I really like it. Also, if you just want PvP, you can make a max level character for PvP right off the bat.
Although after a while it gets pretty tough, do not expect to be able to solo through the entire game.
As others have said, try Eve Online. It's not for everyone and is about as opposite the spectrum as you can get from WoW, but if you can get into it it's pretty sweet. I also recommend checking out Fallen Earth if you are into Fallout. It's sorta like Fallout 3, but an MMO with a heavy focus on crafting. It's also on Steam. If those don't suite you try to find something that is a Sandbox MMO that does, because if you go to another theme park MMO like Lord of the Rings Online you'll just feel like you've traded one WoW for another.
" How about instead of getting into another MMO, you go outside and make some friends... "Good idea, I'll roam the streets looking for friends.
" @Whisperkill said:No, I meant two different things." How about instead of getting into another MMO, you go outside and make some friends... "Good idea, I'll roam the streets looking for friends. "
Go outside
Make some friends.
Two different activities he should do, instead of playing another MMO...
This is going to sound lamer than lamer, but I've never enjoyed any MMO as much as I enjoyed Runescape.
The amount of content you get, the lack of any HD space being occupied, and the fact that its quests trump anything that any other MMO offers, all really please me.
It's a very self-driven game, though. You'll very rarely do anything as a group, outside of minigames.
But, there are no kill 10 boars quests.
But, to be fair, there is an entire "kill 10 boars" skill, so...
