It's expensive for a game from that time so I want to be sure about this purchase, I was just wondering if it holds up now, I know it's not terribly old but I just am curious, as I'll have to whip out the ol' ps2.
Thanks
Is it too late to start playing Persona 4?
@video_game_king: beat me to it, but agree completely. Persona 4 ages very well, jump in and enjoy!
Hell no. It's never too late for Persona.
This.
It's never too late! If you have a ps2/ps3 and a copy of the game go for it. If you have a vita the golden version is great.
I highly recommend getting The Golden for the vita if you can. It's significantly easier and smoother to play, but that may not be an option if you don't have a vita. Either way it is never too late and that game is well worth going back for.
lol what, at the random name change. xX420KingBlaZer420Xx
I actually started it 2 weeks ago. I plan on finally watching the endurance run as soon as I'm done. So I say go for it! I wish I had gotten to it sooner if anything.
Someone suggested I should just watch the endurance run. I'm thinking of doing both around the same time. Thanks guys/gals.
From what I understand, this is how a lot of people played through Persona 4. They'd play through some of the game, then watch the ER, then play through more of the game, etc.
Me? I played through Persona 3 FES while watching Persona 4. I thought about not playing P4 at all due to watching the ER, but I bought a Vita and am playing through Golden right now. It's mostly the same content, but it's all still pretty damn good and it especially deserves your attention if you've never played it before.
So, yes, absolutely buy it and play it.
Like they say, "A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words(+1)".
Edit: In fact, I bought a Vita this past weekend mostly for P4G. I mean I got some other games too, but P4G is what swayed my decision in the long run.

Too late? No.
But they've had Persona sales on PSN before. No need to get a PS2 hardcopy.
@mcfart: Persona 4(PS2) is not on PSN
No and Yes. Yes, you can go back and play the game, but No, because you are a bad person for not playing it already. You will forever be burdened by your past.
It's $20 on Amazon (less if you buy from one of the other listings). I played it last year and I loved it. It holds up fine, but like everyone said, just watch the ER if the price tag is too high for ya.
You should totally get it. Totally.
Also, if you have a somewhat decent PC, emulating it can make it look really good. You can jack up the resolution it renders at internally and everything looks so crisp and yet so smooth at the same time. My PC is like 5 years old and it can render internally at about 4000x3000 with no worries, which is kind of overkill anyway. The only problem is the assets like character portraits being SD, they look pretty fuzzy with everything else looking so good. There's also an odd issue with the sorting of the layers in some menus, but that's minor. The pros far outweigh the cons and my copies of Persona 3 and 4 probably aren't going near a playstation again.
If you don't have a Vita to play Persona 4 Golden, this is the next best way to play Persona 4.
@madman356647: I live in the UK and it's slightly more pricey, but after these guys being so enthusiastic about it I'm definately getting it, I don't know if I should get a vita too and play Golden or just get the PS2 copy.
@xx420kingblazer420xx: PS2 is okay, Golden is better. If you have a beefy PC i'd say buy a copy then just emulate it.
@xx420kingblazer420xx: if you wanted a vita, get golden. Same game but more content. Otherwise youll be fine with just the ps2 game
