No, not really. I don't feel the changes they've made are enough to get me interested in playing that game again. And the inclusion of Johnny Cash and Kurt Cobain is just, in my opinion, tasteless.
I am not interested really at all. With Rock Band releasing many of their key songs as DLC soon, my little interest in it evaporated to almost nothing. If "Sultans of Swing" does not go to Rock Band though, that may be worth a rent. It is one of the best songs of all time.
I've always been a fan of the franchise, but to be honest, the only reason I want it is for the "Get Van Halen Free" deal they're doing. I was initially going to skip GH5 and just get Van Halen anyway.
At the moment Rock Band is winning out majorly over Guitar Hero for me. When World Tour came out I already had Rock Band and all the necessary instruments and I was damned if I was going to buy another whole set of instruments just for Guitar Hero. I have played World Tour a few times since then though, but I think Rock Band 1 & 2 are in general better games and don't regret my decision for a second. Now my hard-drive is chocked full of Rock Band DLC and Guitar Hero 5 is giving me no reason to return to the world of Activision's rhythm game franchise.
Well I've pre-ordered it so yeah I guess I'm looking forward to playing it. With that said though, it's not like I'm all excited about it, it's just another GH game kind of. I do like that they seem to have put the focus back on the guitar, which is good. We'll see how it turns out I guess.
