I'm getting married in October and wondered if anyone else around here was a married gamer? If so, do you play games with your wife/husband? My fiance and I sometimes game together, though she's mostly a fan of games like Rock Band and New Super Mario Bros Wii. She loves her DS though. That said, she's pretty cool with letting me get my gaming time in.
Married Giant Bombers?
I'm not married, but i think thats awesome dude, that your fiance is into gaming : ) Hope i'll find the lady of my life is into games also hopefully.
Congrats on the engagement and hope it goes well for you!
Congrats on the marriage. I'm also married and my wife was like your fiance . After we got married we started to play more games together a lot of co-op but now I have to fight my wife for the 360 because she want's to play Gears 2 and L4D2 all the time. For me it's great that my wife is into games that much, because now she does not care as much when I go out and buy them.
Nope, i have a gf who thinks games are for dorks but she still plays some coop with me if its an accessible game. Congrats on getting marred though.
Congrats! My wife doesn't play games at all (except maybe Rock Band/Guitar Hero) but is very tolerant. She's actually the one who bought me my 360 a couple years ago. I think it's all about finding the right woman. As long as she loves you, and your gaming doesn't dominate your life, she'll be cool with your time spent if front of a TV with a controller.
I knew my girlfriend was a keeper when I got invited into her bedroom...
...and there sat a Mega Drive and SNES. And then we played Micro Machines all day.
Literally, no euphemism there. I know what you're thinking, "oh did she play with your micro machine?" You sick bastards...All of you!

Married 14 years as of March 1st. The ol' ball and chain is playing FF XIII as I post this. I'm a lucky guy :)
Indeed, got married last August. These pics of our wedding cake should give you some indication of where we stand on gaming:
We also got a MAME machine from my best man as our wedding gift. Then we went on honeymoon in Tokyo motivated in some part by snagging a Famicom and any other gaming stuff I could fit in my suitcase. She's awesome though, she's crazy good at Ms. Pac Man and Galaga, along with some modern games. She doesn't dig into shooters or anything, but she's tolerant about my gaming when it hogs the tv, so I'm a super lucky guy.

:( You hurt my feelings... *cries*
" 30 years married this November. Just turned 20 when I made the big move. No regrets and would do it all over again. Marriage does not impede my gaming. Good luck for October man. "So your like 50??
First off, CONGRATS! :)
Second, my girlfriend is a gamer, but is into more artistic games and RPGs. Right now, she is addicted to Final Fantasy 13 and it's hard enough to find time to spend together with our hectic schedules, let alone her spending most waking moments playing FF 13. :P Maybe if she played more games that I play, like Borderlands, for instance...
" @oldschool said:Just before our anniversary. Had 3 wedding ceremonies now. Married in a registry office in 1980. Had a full garden wedding with guest to renew our vows in 1990 and got married again by the shores of Lake Tahoe (Nevada) with our young children present. Doing it again this year, but a bit more low key. That is me in my avatar with my 2 daughters." 30 years married this November. Just turned 20 when I made the big move. Not married but in a de facto relationship, been living together over a year.
My partner is not hugely into gaming which I like, I don't know that a 'gamer' is something I look for in a girlfriend. She plays some games occasionally, she was a fan of The Sims (surprise), Viva Pinata games (which are awesome), Burnout Paradise (an actual surprise), Fable II and LittleBigPlanet to name most of the ones she'll play, She can't invest a lot of time in those things and generally I don't play a lot when we are at home together but that is not because I'm 'not allowed to' and more for the reason that I actually want to spend quality time together.
She goes to bed early so I do most of my gaming at night.
Also she buys me heaps of games, I can think of at least 5 or 6 games she has bought me and not always as a birthday present (and at $80 a pop new at least, that is pretty awesome)

Apparently (I didn't know), it is Pearl, Diamond was 5 years ago. So, I just need to get her Pokemon Pearl as a gift and I am good, right? Apparently, if we hit 60, we get a message from the Queen or whichever monarch is in charge at the time. At 50, we get one from our Governor-General. Well, that is worth staying married for :/
Debbie hates pearls, so there will be no need for gifts in that form. Only old people wear pearls and we are not old dammit ^_^

bwahahahahahaa
Congrats man !
I'm not technically married ( Too much costly... :-( ), but I live with my girlfriends and we've got a daughter (Who love video games already :-D)
My wife is a very adult grounded person, cool, but very stern on gaming, comics, and all nerd stuff in general, so in the beginning, it was not easy all days.
One day she was going insecure about our couple, I say to her, half humorously : "Well, if one guy move his Playstation in your home, it's a sure sign that you're relation is gettin' really serious !"
Anyway, she wasn't really fond of my game passion, and wasn't more after we find out that our daughter was fascinated by video games too...
Untill our Video/DVD player went dead. We couldn't affore a new one (Yeah, we were dirt poor at the time...) She was a Prison Break addict (And Michael Scoffield :p) but she couldn't saw it.
So I remember that my old Playstation could read DVD. Suddenly, Video games weren't so bad after all !!
Strangely, since that, I got no more problem !!

I have zero plans of ever getting married. "That's what they all say ....... until that one girl comes along and bam, you are in. "
isn't it bad luck to marry on 2010 or something ? Thats why my brother and his fiance are getting married next year
" @demontium said:No, but who can stop me from trying?! and whats with the "^-^" you've been using, it makes me want to drink my own piss." I want to practice polygamy. Can't until I am 18. "Do you think you can satisfy one women, let alone a few or several ^-^ "
My wife and I married in september 09. She'd already known that i was a huge gamer, so she's cool with it, even if she doesnt play. We're good about dividing my game time and her girly show watching time pretty evenly. It's good to have mutual understanding and such. marraige is rad :)
