It's pretty fun, the problem is I really don't see much replay value in it.
Mirrors Edge Demo
"Guess you didn't see the numerous "Mirror's Edge" blog impressions. Oh wait, the unnecessarily large amount of impression blogs. Getting tired of people saying "Am I alone" or "Does anybody else.." in titles/statements.Am I alone in being completely blown away... by how little fun there is to be had in the Mirrors Edge Demo?
"
Yeah, there's already been tons of blog posts regarding the game.
I had a great time with the demo, but as Shawn said, once you're done with the level, is it really going to be that much fun? Aside from time trials, I don't really see what could be any different.
"I just wish it was non-linear so I could mess around with it"Yeah, I played the demo 3 or 4 times. I really like the concept and the controls, it just doesn't have much variety. That being said, it is a fairly early demo, so we'll have to wait for the retail copy.
"Nothing wrong with a linear game."No, but this game certainly has the capacity to be much more open.
In terms of climbing, running, jumping, and platforming, this game is what Assassin's Creed should have been. Fluid, non-breaking rooftop dashes.
I don't equate 'open' with better. It could have been something else, but if that's just not it's focus...
"I don't equate 'open' with better. It could have been something else, but if that's just not it's focus..."I didn't say open was better. I'm just saying with the controls and concept, it feels like it should be more open. Imagine playing Oblivion, except linear.
