PAX Store/Membership Codes

Hey, I'm going to be giving out some codes to PAX attendees, but I figured I'd also send some along for the forum users as well. If you want to use them, these can all be redeemed at store.giantbomb.com! I'll be updating this post with more codes as we give them out. These are first-come first serve, but there are plenty of activations for the premium memberships if you know anyone who's on the fence about that!

Also might want to follow us on Twitter and Facebook, as I forgot to bring my laptop charger and it might be easier to just send them all over there when this thing dies.

Not sure as well...went same route, I guess it's something they do manually on the back end? Current one expires in Dec with recurring charge setup otherwise. hmmm. Well hopefully they just match it on the email address you specify.

Code input needs to be better explained. The way it's laid out makes it seems like you're only able to just pay and nothing more.

Yeah, even though the option to jump to paypal is there straight up, you need to 'continue' your order and the field will be there on the second page.

I bought the yearly membership, but the email contains no code and my time hasn't been extended. Am I supposed to do something?

Oh shit, I think it's cause I used paypal right? it says you guys update manually when paypal is used. I guess I'll wait and see.

Dunno seems pretty straight forward.

Go to item page you want, hit add to cart.

Thrown to cart page to verify items, hit checkout.

Sent to shipping/billing page, hit continue.

Finalize on payment page, input method/fancy codes.

There is about a half dozen variations on the shopping theme various checkout sites use. Pretty stark bare so you dont have to go hunting for small print anywhere.

Super happy that I can finally renew my subscription, but have to agree, the code input field should probably be earlier.

How long will it take for the change to go live? I didn't use PayPal so it should be fairly quick?

Was surprised tax was charged on yearly membership though, dont recall if that occurred last time. meh.

Hopefully we may get some new update on the word about store revamps, new offerings (new shirts/sizes, possible buttons/stickers, etc), and the RD donation shirt during the PAX panel. Been preeeetty quiet for awhile now.

On the billing page, where it says 'submit', it really is not clear as to what it means by that. On a lot of sites, the submit would submit the payment. Badly worded IMO.

If my current sub expires in December, will purchasing a new one simply extend it on from that date?

Man I wish I had time to go to PAX, but I can't. I'm blown away at those low prices though, just like that puppy!

Is it weird that there's an option to pay with credit card when it's specifically a PayPal membership? I would rather not use PayPal if I have the option.

@rorie: Hey, you guys should start taking the store a little more seriously. Plenty of people here, myself included, would be happy to buy some Giant Bomb merch. It's literally just money left on the table right now. We want to buy cool stuff, support the site and wear the Giant Bomb logo around; you guys could make more money.

I went to this death metal show called Summer Slaughter on a whim about a month ago with a couple friends who are really into that kind of thing and I spotted a guy wearing the wipEout-style Giant Bomb membership shirt, so I went over and said hey. He seemed maybe a little weirded out by it but whatever. It was cool to see a Giant Bomb fan wearing our colors out in the wild, and I'd like to see that more.

Right now, the stuff in the store has been around for years, the same designs. Put all that stuff on sale and clear it all out, then get some CNET lawyers to handle the legal end to host a community t-shirt contest and print the best ones. Make some Giant Bomb posters already; you guys have had so much incredible art done for you that it's really a shame that I can't just buy a print of any of it. Etc.

@rorie: I think I fucked up. I used my gmail address which is linked to my GB membership but not the email I use for paypal. I just thought they would email me a code or something to use on the billing page.
