Post your favorite(s) and why they are your favorites. Mine would have to be
Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers. I really liked the voodoo storyline and its modern setting. Full Throttle was pretty good too.
Post your favorite point-and-click adventure game
That game was fuuucked up. To think I played that when I was like 12.
" Harvester That game was fuuucked up. To think I played that when I was like 12. "Wow never heard about that one, looks pretty insane. Good puzzles and story, does it still hold up today? Keep in mind that I don't really care about the graphics I can still play early 3d games and don't really mind much about it.
Anyway one of my favorite adventure games has to be The Last Express. That game was super hard when it came to the puzzles because it was all in real time and you had to do certain things at a precise moment to keep the story progressing, but it was so rewarding when you did everything right. One of the best stories in videogames period.
I also love equally all the Lucasarts adventure games. Never played the Sierra ones too much although I love Sins of the Fathers.
I was to young for some of the real classic point and click adventure games so I'd have to say Curse of Monkey Island
" @fuzzyponken said:I haven't played it since the late 90's so I honestly couldn't tell you. I tried getting it to run last year but with no luck. It wasn't a great game or anything, but the story and characters were delightfully insane and it was gory as hell - something I appreciated in my younger years. Still do, I suppose. I should get that game running." Harvester That game was fuuucked up. To think I played that when I was like 12. "Wow never heard about that one, looks pretty insane. " Broken Sword (or Circle of Blood as its otherwise known).A great game for sure, but the instant death possibilities were uncalled for and poorly implemented. My favorite is Grim Fandango. And yes, I still think of it as a point&click adventure, despite the fact that there is no pointing and clicking involved.
I still hold a fondness for Terry Pratchett's Discworld which I played the hell out of on PS1. I really should find a copy of it again.
I have Secret of Monkey Island, but have not played it yet. (I will do in the new year).
It's the only point & click adventure game I've completed, so it's my favourite by default, but it's amazing. If you haven't already you owe it to yourself to check it out. You can play the demo in your browser here.
" Simon the Sorcerer. ":D That was my first video game ever. I had to get my dad to play it since I couldn't read yet haha.
I'd have to say my favourite is Longest journey. That or the latest Monkey island stuff, I still haven't finished the original.
"Machinarium

Yeppes, it's totally amazing and it's kinda odd i didn't mention it in my previous post.
Creepy creeps.
I think I'm eventually going to get it again from GOG sometime in the future.
" Sanitarium Creepy creeps. I think I'm eventually going to get it again from GOG sometime in the future. "Emilio beat me to it. I do not remember too much about this game but I have fond memories playing it round my older sisters house when I was young.
Tales of Monkey Island.
May be considered heracy, but I think it beat the originals :)
But I enjoyed the whole series.. even Escape, to a degree.
I'm also a big fan of Broken Sword 1 & 2, Beneath a Steel Sky, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade / The Fate of Atlantis, and Sam & Max.
