I haven't played either, but Red Dead Redemption looks like something I'll enjoy more.
Red Dead Redemption or Alan Wake?
Cant find a link but there has already been a poll on this,
EDIT: http://www.giantbomb.com/forums/general-discussion/30/alan-wake-or-red-dead-redemption/416727/?
I don't know what the deal is down in the States or overseas but in Canada Red Dead is 59.99 while Alan Wake is 69.99.
I'm 100% behind Red Dead regardless, but I'm curious how that will further effect the sales of the two.
Yup, already a poll like this one. the exact same :P

Just wanted to leave that here.
" @KaosAngel said:But plot is more critical to Alan Wake than RDR. With RDR, you mainly just want to play through an open world. it's like GTA; do you really care about the story?" Get RDR, I already finished Alan Wake and the plot is a huge letdown. "They say the same about RDR. "
" @Jeust said:I don't... that's why it gets old on me. At the same time, the side missions and mini games seem to be improved and better integrated into the game, so even if the story sucks, the story mission gameplay and side mission gameplay won't." @DystopiaX said:

edit- also, the IGN review said that the climax was amazing, but then again it's IGN. Even so, there were plenty of other things that they could focus their praise on so it must be noteworthy in some way.
Yeah, GTA has improved, but to me it gets old too fast. I don't like much the life of crime games. :p" @Jeust said:

On Alan Wake, i've reached the end today, and it is great! Much better than i'd thought. It a lovecraftian ending, much better rooted on reality than many of the novels inspired on the same ideas. And taking the mini-series approach it is much more interesting than even a Lovecraft's novel, or Stephen King's. Less dry and more imaginative.
reviews where all of them are atleast a 90 and rockstar hasnt given all publications review copies....yeah im definitely going to trust those reviews!
the game you should be basing it off is rock star san diegos last game, which is midnight club la. a game that would be an outlier on that consistent level of quality. im not going to make any judgment about a game or anything for that matter until ive been able to go through it. theres no point in making your own opinions about something based on other peoples opinions
