Curious as to what regular content is planned/ in discussion for The Year of the Future?
Mostly interested in video features, last years TANG and Endurance Run videos were awesome, and the flow of daily and weekly content kept me on the site. Same thing with the huge number of Quicklooks.
Obviously the Bombcast and Quicklooks are still going in all their glory, but what has Ryan got planned for the year? Has Jeff and Vinny got a serious idea for another Endurance Run? Is Brad going to start a Bi-Weekly podcast doing Audio-book readings of User Suggestions/Submissions? Will Dave and Drew revive the How to Build a Bomb feature, presenting each episode as a different game character?
Site Content Plans for 2010?
Yeah, I doubt you'll get any constructive response from staff here, anything that major will just show up as a news item. Although I would like to hear Brad read "Hound Of The Baskervilles".

"Without blind hope we have nothing. :P "
I agree with this, actually. After watching the "best of Persona 4 ER", I feel like another one just wouldn't be the same. I'd really prefer to see something new from them (and as awesome). But I'd have no problem if that new video feature was a daily thing... just done differently." @InfiniteGeass said:
Jeff said as much on a Ustream webcast a few days ago. (edit: that is, that they aren't planning on another ER) I suppose I'd like daily content as much as the next guy (although the staff does a lot of video in one day as-is), but I wonder what else game-related they can do on a daily basis. Playing one game from the beginning lends itself to a daily structure. "" I don't think they should do another Endurance Run to be honest. Do something different, ya know? "
All your ideas are awesome, and should totally be on their plans for 2010.
Also, they had an achievement system in mind, and they actually put up some pictures of it by the time of the site redesign. Nothing else was mentioned but it was a pending plan for God-knows-when. Maybe we'll see more of it in 2010.
Also more previews and articles that deal with more 'random' topics of games. The blog is not their main focus but it should be a larger focus, these guys can write quality articles but they never appear to holm the same reverent as they do with their video or audio stuff where they goof off.
Guess I'd like more articles where they goof off.
Maybe they could do a video series where they're are going to review a game and play it day to day, commenting on what they like and dislike as the go along. Kind of a behind the scenes of the review process if you will.
Definately would dig more behind the scenes and candid stuff.
Id even watch:
- A 3 hour weekly multiplayer session with all four guys, beer, pizza and a different game every week.
- 'A day in the life of' series hosted by a Camera Puppet.
- A regular Quicklook Retro night.
EDIT: Im totally into InfiniteGeass's Behind the Scenes of the Review Process idea.
What I'd like to see is more classic Quick Looks, either for serious or comedic purposes. It would be interesting to see the GB crew's take on classic and not-so-classic games.
I think that Ryan should do some more TANG, though how I am not quite sure (Maybe Video Game cartoons?). I also think that there should be more Quick Looks of old games, because the Incredible Crisis and the Dreamcast ones were awesome.
All i got from that was that there wasn't one planned, but from what i understand the other one wasn't either. It was just a "hey i have no time to play this game so i'll make it part of my job". They should do a Demons' Souls or dragon age one, lol. Also i have no idea why this is all bolded." @InfiniteGeass said:

The multiplayer thing sounds awesome, i don't know how many different MP games they can come up with but imagining them playing CoD TDM with random people (or even better, hardcore TDM or Search and Destroy) or Halo sounds like it would be hilarious and awesome. If any of the staff reads this, definitely do that." Definately would dig more behind the scenes and candid stuff.

Demon's Souls doesnt have enough story or crazyness. The constant death would make progress come in spurts (hehehe spurts).
Funnily enough, Dragon Age has the opposite problem, of too much story, and while some of it is quite crazy in context, its got a very serious tone to it that i think would reduce the comedic value. I guess this game would work best out of the 2 as you can take the combat step by step, meaning the guys could consult.
The more i think about it, Persona 4 was really the perfect game for an Endurance Run, whether they knew it or not at the start.
The catch 22 is that an ER is really the perfect format for daily content, but if the guys are not enthused about it, then its probably not worthwhile.
