It is nice to have the status bar back up top. Awesome!
Thank ou, thank you, thank you
" Was an impressive piece of coding at the bottom. As a web developer i totally respected the decision. "Very true. I was okay with the bottom bar, I just prefer the top.

they should make this feature only for chrome
fuuuu, i liked it when they put it on the bottom... its easier to navigate back to your profile or the quest page than scrolling to the top
+1 from me too.
This increasing trend of having toolbars floating at the bottom of the screen is just idiotic. Props to GB for going against the flow.
Really, why have something covering up elements that you haven't seen yet as you scroll down?
Not sure how I feel about it. I had gotten used to it being at the bottom. Now I have to get used to a big grey box at the top of my screen.
EDIT: Now I've made up my mind. I don't like it at all. When I'm scrolling through the forums, my eyes are naturally directed towards the bottom of the screen making it easy to see if I have a PM. Now I have to divert my eyes waaaaay up to the top left. It's buggin' me.
EDIT 2: Also, I now have to go the top of the web page to get to everything. Dislike.
" fuuuu, i liked it when they put it on the bottom... its easier to navigate back to your profile or the quest page than scrolling to the top "I think the ideal for me would some sort of skinny top header that had search, profile/status bar and the section headers (possibly a dropdown) that stayed at the top when you scroll down. Of course, it is easy said than done and I appreciate GB's work regardless.
" @Manhattan_Project said:" @BaconAndWaffles: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I liked having everything down there....also the quest pop-up thing is broken. "What quest thing is broken? "
The notification that pops up when you complete a quest. It shows a blank box or something like that.
Well done on moving it back to the top. I like it a lot better than the underbar
Hooray for it being back up top. It was especially frustrating at the bottom in Chrome with the "waiting for giantbomb.com..." messages covering it up so you couldn't see or interact with the links until all the hidden advertisement pages the site loads were all done loading >.>

Theres your problem right there, you are using Chrome instead of Firefox :P
Navigation is quicker now when zoomed in using Firefox. When the toolbar was at the bottom there was noticeable slowdown.

I eventually got used to it at the bottom and ended up liking it waaaaay better. Now I can't even see my followed or new messages being on this section of the page!

also while I do appreciate the site and how much of a nightmare coding something like this is I just used 4 css rules to put it back at the bottom
#userbar{
position:fixed;
width:100% ;
bottom:0;
z-index:1000;
}
it doesn't change the popout being below but I'm pretty sure I could do it kinda easily, might make it a userstyle if they don't add an option to switch it =P
I like it much better back up top personally. Not a fan of distracting and permanently fixed information at the bottom of a webpage. Nahright.com just put a shitty scrolling bar at the bottom of their site it pisses me off.
I prefer it now, but I think that the font choice for level seems a tad out of place, and I would have preferred it had the bar been thinner and further elongated, so it further resembled the bottom bar, but remained static at the top and (maybe, would have to try it out myself design wise) didn't cover up the entire top of the site.
Either way, I think it's an improvement. Kudos to the web-design team.
I kind of liked it at the bottom, because then I could always see it. Like right now, since I'm towards the bottom of the page, I can't see it.
That, and as a relatively new user, I'm more used to it at the bottom.
" Chrome makes it horrid at the bottom I LOVE it at the top :D! "quoted for truth.
Personally, I prefer having it at the top, as I don't have the most powerful PC to browse Giantbomb, and having the fancy overlay at the bottom was cool, but killed my page load times.
It's now much quicker at loading the site with the box at the top, so thankyou GB/Wiskey Media crew. :)
