They should have tried to get the Olympics in Detroit!

I live in Philly so here the first city I would support and I think its an excellent candidate for summer Olympics. But Obama running around with Oprah supporting a bid for Chicago to host the Olympics really showed their true agenda's, just so they could prance around in Chicago in 2016 looking like the King and Queen. If he really cared, and actually kept ANY of his promises, a place like Detroit, which is hurting SO BAD economically, would have been the proper place to support for the Olympics in 2016. He promised those people during the campaign he would help them and get them out of the rut. They need jobs so bad its just terrible. There are other places hurting just as bad in the USA too, so him supporting Chicago was clearly a personal thing.  
And seriously, what the hell is he doing with Oprah, our president is so unpresidential

You do know there are other reasons why the Olympics are held in certain area for numerous reasons, right? The Olympics is an incredibly important event that requires heavy investment and therefore needs the space, time and money to even establish the foundation for it. It doesn't exist to save a state from economic ruin.

Chicago sucks. I think Hawaii would've been cool.

Yeah it would have been awesome to have the Olympics in a crime infested area of Detroit.

The Olympics probably wouldn't help Detroit. Look at what happened to Atlanta. They are still paying for the summer games they hosted.

Nothing important should ever be held in Detroit.
