Treyarch listens to the community and tries to use player feedback to better the experience so I give them credit for that as IW never listens to the community, but as far as talent and caliber IW takes the cake. IW are on the level of Valve, Bungie or Blizzard.
I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between two Call of Duty games made by the two. It's not like those games have any particular quality to them.
They're the best casual first person shooters of this generation. But I guess it's cool to bad mouth popular games because obviously if a lot of people like something, it must infact be stupid. Anyway I don't really care which person makes the best, I'll play which ever my friends are playing.
Both are competent developers, the difference is that Infinity Ward have one project over a 2 year period, whereas Acivision generally give several projects to Treyarch, meaning they have less time & resources to devote to any one project.
Since IW is now dead (or might as well be since most everyone who started it is gone) I would have to say treyarch.
Personally, I think treyarch gets a bad rap. They still make good games, not as good as IW, but good none the less. Lots of people seem to have a "fuck treyarch" mentality just because of IW. Those games really aren't as bad as people say.
I voted Treyarch. COD W@W was an okay game and COD Black Ops looks to be another okay game. IW, on the other hand is dead. Gutted by a mass migration, so I have no faith in any of their future projects just from their history. IW needs to prove to me all over again that they are a worthwhile development studio.
I lost all my love for IW after my experience with the MW2 multiplayer. Treyarch seems to be doing good stuff with Black Ops so I have to give it to them despite my hate for WaW.

I have to go with Treyarch, after Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward is dead to me. I was actually impressed with WaW, it had the most balanced multi-player out of COD4 and Modern Warfare 2. Hell, Treyarch are actually community friendly unlike Infinity Ward.
While I have respect for both, the way Infinity Ward were when they were developing Modern Warfare 2 was awfully cocky and a real turn off. So I'd have to say Treyarch.
hmmm im for treyarch because they made a better co-operative experience n i love co-op takes more communication n at times makes the games more tactical n every decision can effect you and your team mates so u gotta work as a team more tightly =p

Yes, very edgy.
Bungie makes critically acclaimed games, which would in general opinion qualify them as being called a quality studio. Note that I am in no way a fan of the Halo games.

Well that's not true, IW actually awhile ago came out and started asking people for ideas and told them to post them on their twitter account
Equal. I love COD4 and MW2 but at the same COD 3 was awesome in its own way. I hate that now treyarch doesn't go with there own style of MP but what can I do.
I vote treyarch because as of now I will confidently bet that treyarch will be the one making the better COD games. Plus, MW2 kinda sucks so that also sorta sways my vote.
I think if Treyarch went with their own direction they would get more credit. Call of Duty W@W just felt like a really COD4 mod.
Black ops might be the exception, but I have little faith in Treyarch. Zombies is fun and all but its not a gamechanger for me, its not going to motivate me to spend money. Also I think its about time for the Call of Duty franchise to die. Its had a good run and I've had some good times with it. But all good things must come to an end.
I think Black ops will be exactly like W@W in that it will be really fun to play for the first month and then I wont ever pick it up again.
I like Treyarch a lot and feel that they're awfully good at following I.W's lead, but that's the thing; they're a follower not a leader. I'd like to see them do something on their own, with their own engine, and then we'll see what they're really capable of.
I'm equal. I enjoyed all of IW's campaigns, and I enjoyed W@W's plus the zombies. Despised 3. The multiplayer can fuck itself in the arse over and over. Also, to make it all balanced, Treyarch don't have Robert Bowling. (FourZeroTwo.) What a suck up.

This should be posted on almost every single hate-filled game thread.
I was an IW fanboy.... MW2 fixed that. Black Ops being cold war based puts Treyarch in the running for 1st place if they can pull off a solid game. Hands up if you became an IW fan-boy because the catchy rap at the end of MW1 told you to be. (my hand is up)
