That's...random.
Don't do it, Valve. Nothing positive can come of this for you. Capcom is just using you. She'll hurt you like she hurts everyone else.
This is actually pretty damn awesome. The best part is that it's all free!
I'm glad I have the PC version pre ordered... I had it on my PS3 before and had tons of fun co-oping with friends locally. On the PC though, I have a lot more dudes to play with online.
I CALL NICK!
@alexandersheen: Commenting on the crossover project, Chet Faliszek from Valve stated: "We're huge Resident Evil fans, so when the opportunity arose to work directly with Capcom to combine L4D2 and RE6, we jumped at it."
Wat?
Wait...
Ok.
My exact reaction.
My reaction as well.
I had to check the calendar to make sure it wasn't April Fools.
My exact reaction.....Although I think if RE6 hadn't been so awful people might be a little less dubious of something like this.....I suppose the reaction most people have when a new Valve project comes along is 'why are the doing this when they could be working on HL3'
Um. I just see going as POS anyway. If it was RE in L4D2, then yea it'd be cool. But, Its NOT.
So.. I mean. No super-cool melee weapons from L4D, so.. I just say: Nah, dawg. Just no. : /
@blu3v3nom07: monsters from RE will be in L4D2.
@theht: Oh hey!, didn't read that. Almost alright.
@theht: At least the Payday crossover made sense; beyond the zombies, there really isn't much of a similarity between L4D and RE. Valve actually makes quality games for starters, lol.
This technically makes sense I guess, but it seems super weird that Valve would want to associate themselves with a game as widely reviled as RE6.
My personal feeling is that Valve kind of broke Left 4 Dead 2 where there is something different about the dynamics that makes it impossible to clear the game even on the easiest setting. We used to do a Thanksgiving/Christmas game with family doing L4D because is an easy enough game for *anyone* to figure out and succeed. We'd set it to the lowest difficulty and outside of the crescendo events it would be difficult to wipe out which definitely made the casual players feel good. The first holiday we tried L4D2 no game actually made it to the end let alone get through the crescendo.
There is something very approachable about L4D that is something that Biohazard/Resident Evil can't even do. What I do hope happens is that this "engine" constrains the Capcom/RE side from going crazy with irrelevant story and action elements. Keep the story simple ("My team is in this horrible situation. We got to get over there.") but let Capcom focus on zombie design.
Uhm what? I don't really see what Valve is getting out of this, connecting their generally well received game with one that is widely reviled. Has no effect on me though, i'm not much a fan of either franchise.
I think "widely reviled" is a bit hyperbole. I know plenty of people who love RE6. If you're going to go by critical reception sure... but I don't think that hardly speaks for everyone.

Well i didn't say "universally reviled". Every critics response I've read has been negative, and two of my mates got the game and both disliked it as well (they were fans of the series till this point). True there are some who enjoy it, but some people also stand by the War Z, doesn't change the fact the general opinion of the product is low.
Huh... ok....? If I was ever going to play L4D2 again or buy the PC version of RE6, I'd... probably be excited by this completely unnecessary crossover?
As someone who just beat Resident Evil 6 today, I can say that... uh... Yeah.
Leon has a slick jacket.
This is strange. I guess this will help the sales of RE6 for the PC, but how much effort is Valve gonna put in this collaborative development to make this worthwhile?
