I ask this because the site I frequent is usually slow by a day when it comes to news. Do you guys know of any sites that are consistently fast with their gaming news so that I may also get my news from there? And I would use Kotaku if they didn't post pure crap half of the time so they're out of the question.

Well outside of Kotaku, Destructoid is pretty quick with getting stuff up (although at times their "wit" can be a bit annoying), and Joystiq is quite good about it as well.

In the age of metacritic It's all about bribe anyway. I don't trust early reviews at all anymore.

Giantbomb is slow as hell. Kotaku is fast, and IGN is fast too. Gamespot is very slow I find.

If you don't mind the possibility of the news reported being completely fabricated and completely amateur writing, Kotaku and Joystiq are the places to go. I generally stop in at Magic Box once a week to see some random scans because they don't feel the need to inject awful color commentary into anything.

If the news is worth hearing it'll be on Giantbomb eventually.

Yeah, same here.  They're not primarily a news site anyways.

But, on topic:  Kotaku and Joystiq both seem to get news rather quickly.

Pretty much sums it up. 99% of the news on the blogs is filler.

I checked out the Magic Box and it's quite good. It's to the point without any of the color commentary bullshit, like you said. Plus, instead of me having to scroll onto another article, all of the news is right there. Thanks, dude.

But Cliffy B made a new tweet that was vague about something and I need some jackass to jump to conclusions about it and write an article within 10 minutes!

I would say kotaku or n4g as the site that have the fastest news updates, kotaku cool for the articles and heads up on all things games but the comments system i don't care for. N4g is good for news about videogames and it pulls in article from other sites so it is great for that,

god damnit you're right. Could it be possible to inject all too much sarcasm into the 1 paragraph blurb accompanying the news?

Joystiq and Kotaku are my go to sites... most of the mainstream sites (IGN/Gamespot) have sucky commentors, or take stories from other outlets...

Even if Giantbomb doesn't post news quickly on the site, people always post news right away on the forums.
