I have a PS4 and an XB1. I think I want to get BF4 sometime. I like both systems - might have a slight preference for the Xbox controller.
Your thoughts?
PC. Upgrading a PC every few years ends up costing something slightly above the launch price of a new console anyways, so might as well get some use of it instead of burning even more money on a console that is pretty much the same thing.
Buying a console just feels redundant now that PC ports are a lot more reliable than they used to be.
I would of chose my PC but now its gonna be ps4. I really like the remote play, it works well and just knowing i can just turn on my Vita and play some assassins creed in another room is too alluring. I also really like the Dualshock 4 and i like trophies.
My PC is good, but I like gaming on consoles more, so probably PS4, unless there are PC specific features or controls that I like more on a game to game basis (for instance I'll probably play Dragon Age on PC).
Single player games - PC.
For multiplayer games it will depend on 1) what version my friends are getting and 2) which will have the more active community. None of my friends have gotten a next-gen console so it looks like I'll stick with the PC version of multiplayer games for the time being.
PS4 because that is all I got right now and currently I'm still of mind that I don't really need an Xbox One. If ever it will be once its cheap to maybe check out some exclusives if some ever do appeal. The few exclusives Microsoft has I just don't care for anymore. Once upon a time a Halo would have been all I need. Gave 343i a chance with Halo 4 and it just was not very good in comparison to Bungie. Destiny looks like it will fill my future sci-fi shooter void quite nicely.
As long as my PC can run the game better than than my PS4 I'll go with that, but I'm more than willing to switch over to PS4 when my rig starts becoming outdated as I'd prefer not to have to upgrade immediately.
PC.
Except for Nintendo exclusives, I only play on PC.
I've been playing BF4 the whole weekend on Xbone, seems good so far I may do that for longer. Playing w/ a nice controller in a couch with big tv + friends, still beats my obsessive I only care about games -P-Counting self so whatever. Also voice control go to netflix / go to tv is pretty nice, I hate to admit I like the new kinect.
At the moment it seems XB1 games are running at 720p opposed to 1080p on PS4 so if you have both then I'd say PS4 or PC. At the moment I only have an XB1 so I'll be getting them on it or PC until I get a PS4.
this is actually not acccurate.
For games that come out across PC, Xbone and PS4: PC
For 'console exclusives' then obviously PS4 for the potentially higher resolutions and framerates. It's pretty obvious the Xbox One is going to be getting the PS3 treatment of the next generation.
Maybe to soon to make such a strong statement, not that I'm fanboy invest in Xbone as I probably gonna end buying everything (yet again). Xbox does offers a lot of nice stuff to normal people . Said so I played BF4 on a friend's PS4, and seriously I couldn't spot any meaningful difference, It really fucking looks the same to me...
PC or PS4, depending on which room I'd rather play that game in. My PS4 runs a number of games at a better quality than my PC, which I thought was pretty good. Got a 7970 ~ 3 months ago because it was cheap but I get much smoother gameplay with Warframe and DC Universe (only two I could easily test) on PS4. Maybe it's the drop in resolution but the fact that the TV is 2-3 x the size of the monitor makes that pretty irrelevant.
MS usually has good exclusives in their first few years, and if they get another Mass Effect exclusive or something like that, it may swing me to play more on that console, but at this rate I don't see myself picking up an XBO for some time.
