I was kind of leaning towards GTA IV.
I want to know, which has a better online, and which has a better singe player?
Which game get should I?
saints row 2 is more fun, a lot more fun, it is one of my favorite games, it has plenty of customization, gta 4 is not fun and gets old, fast, trust me
Saints Row 2; crazy, insane, complete over the top madness. buy it if you want to have an outrageous time, and it's even better if a friend owns it because you can play co op or just blow stuff up with them. lame multiplayer.
Grand Theft Auto IV; superb story but gameplay starts to get dull about halfway through the game. story mode is worth sitting through the gameplay if you grow tired of it. multiplayer is a blast if you're not playing deathmatch and stuff and having fun in free mode. best with friends.
that's my opinion on both games. to answer your question, GTA IV has a higher quality storyline and more chaotic multiplayer moments. at the price they are both at, however, you'll do yourself a good idea by picking up both of them.
" @organicalistic_ said:no, gta got too boring too fast" @AlwaysAngry: saints row 2 is more fun, a lot more fun, it is one of my favorite games, it has plenty of customization, gta 4 is not fun and gets old, fast, trust me "this, but the complete opposite "
Listen, Saints Row 2 is far superior. Arguments pointing at the split between comedy and seriousness (Saints Row 2/GTAIV) are a tiny bit misleading. I found the world in Saints Row 2 regarding story much more compelling. Sure, the story is a bit crazier, but in actuality GTA IV is entirely based on caricatures and characters that have extreme accents, from the Eastern Europeans to the Italian-American mafia. Saints Row 2 has less of this, and it has much more interesting story turns even if they're crazy. And generally, I found the missions in Saints Row 2 to be more interesting and just better. There's no crappy motorbike missions like in GTA IV where if you tap the curb of the sidewalk you go flying off (because the motorbike control is garbage).
However, Saints Row is also a much more forgiving game. You can do two pretty simple missions in the first half-hour of the game that will give you unlimited sprint and unlimited dual submachine gun ammo, and that's really all you need to get you through the game. That's not a downside; just something to note, and it's something that I personally like.
It's a bit of a false dichotomy; you should definitely get both. Just get Saints Row 2 first.
Both games didn't age very well, but Saints Row just feels somewhat clunky to me. And since GTA IV puts a lot on the story is say go with that. I don't think there are lots of people still playing either of those games online.
" @RE_Player92 said:YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, i hated gta 4 and missed the fun of san andreas, thats why my vote goes to SR2" Saints Row 2, GTA4 was so hyped up yet it was another GTA game... "^^ this "
" In my opinion Saints Row 2 is more fun but GTA is a better game... if that makes sense. "What you're saying is, Saints Row 2 is more fun than it is good?
i had a lot of fun with saint's row 2 without ever playing much of the first one, and already had enough GTA when IV came out, so i think it just depends what style you like and what your previous experiences are with them. plus i made the most disgusting looking transvestite/most badass british dude you've ever known in saint's row 2, something you can't do in GTA IV
" @Barrock said:I had a ball with it but the story and characters weren't nearly as good as GTA. GTA is more cinematic, Saints Row is more "HOLY SHIT I'M STREAKING!" I mean it does have a mini game where you have to murder dudes to protect a celebrity and you do so in some very creative ways." " @ZanzibarBreeze said:I understand where you're coming from. People may not believe me, but Saints Row 2 made more of an emotional impact on me than GTA IV did. I'm actually playing through it again now. There were some pretty potent scenes in that game, and I liked the leading character. GTA IV suffered from too many disconnects for me -- moments where the protagonist was, like, I shouldn't be doing this, but I'll go execute these people anyway, for simple two-dimensional revenge. I don't know, I just found Saints Row 2 more compelling. As I say, yes, crazier, but more compelling. Maybe it's just me." @Barrock said:I had a ball with it but the story and characters weren't nearly as good as GTA. GTA is more cinematic, Saints Row is more "HOLY SHIT I'M STREAKING!" You are obviously trying to overthrow me! I won't let you!
And theft grande supreme oil spill IV is what I will probably buy.
" @AlwaysAngry: saints row 2 is more fun, a lot more fun, it is one of my favorite games, it has plenty of customization, gta 4 is not fun and gets old, fast, trust me "Don't trust him. GTA 4 is one of the best games crafted this console generation. But if you like stupid fun, can't go wrong with SR2.
ignore all the people who say ''this game sucks cause it was hyped'''
If you want a compelling story, morale decisions and such try GTA 4 and if you want to just go batshit crazy on the streets, and spray shit on everyone then play Saints Row 2..
Okay so here it goes i played Saints Row 2 co-op with my friend for months so i've gotta say SR2!It has so much more replay value to it,it is crazy fun and just plain crazy and i completly recomend it as a purchase.Although GTA IV is great the story mode is engrossing but after that's done there's not much left so my verdict is rent GTA IV and buy Saints Row 2 for sure i highly recomend it.
Rent them both or buy them, they are worth playing, yet totally different from each other.
GTA4 = more serious and story driven, slow paced, technically good gameplay and physics, not that fun
Saints row 2 = no conscience, fun, yet not as highly rated by review sites, almost no physics
" @AlwaysAngry: i swear to god if you dont buy GTA IV i will fucking find you and do NOTHING to you and then leave you safe "Uhhh uhhh uhhh err uhh well uhh...
Errr... yes? I was going to buy GTA IV anyway.
